Project: Strange Arrangements Production: Weareseventeen Agency: Weareseventeen Festival: OnedotZero Music & Sound: Radium Audio CHECK www.radium-audio.com for more high quality creative work like this Background: We collaborated with Weareseventeen on both this Strange Arrangements film and the "behind the scenes" which was created and to be shown at London's onedotzero festival in 2010. Our role was to creating the sound and music for the film. Which is based on a series of moving sculptures based on the surrealists approach to art. The Making of Strange Arrangement final film here - http://vimeo.com/15151878 How we did it: We wanted something magical to happen on this film as the music score is so deeply rich and the piano and string timbre so immense the sound design score was FREE to get wild and out there who fucking cared if it matched. The visuals are out of this world so again our approach was lets go to the next level with this and record everything we see in the film we MUST record and put into the music and sound design. Chris focussed on creating a stranger piece of works, and we had just come back from recording guns so had lots of unusual timbres to play with. Our art and craft of recording is evident in the richness of the sounds. We used microphones which are ultra small so we could get close to our subject matter, this was very important to us to have close mike sounds. DPA 4060 were our choice. onedotzero festival - onedotzero.com/ weareseventeen - weareseventeen.com/ music & sound: www.radium-audio.com+ More details

Client: BSkyB Project: BSkyB Arts HD x 4 Idents Broadcaster: BSkyB Production Companies: Weareseventeen - Man vs Machine - Artillery Studio Director: Jon Yeo - Cam Levin Background Bike: Bike is set in the location of Liverpool, so has the graphical identity set against the cityscape. How we did it: The 4 x idents have a small making of film to accompanying the idents. Sky Arts HD Bike was about movement in the visuals and sound texture. We set about building the main identity almost hidden in the cityscape allowing for the sound of the bike, night scene and music to merge along the ribbon textures. Background Strings: Strings was special as it features a performance by Yin Qian who we also recorded for the piece. How we did it: The 4 x idents have a small making of film to accompanying the idents. Sky Arts HD Strings was about movement in the visuals and sound texture. We set about building a main identity around the violin and then allowed the sound of the ribbon textures to unfold gracefully along with the instruments of the orchestra. Background Chair: Chair is set in a seaside town and therefore has all the backdrop of the sea. How we did it: The 4 x idents have a small making of film to accompanying the idents. Sky Arts HD Chair was about movement in the visuals and sound texture. The main theme is underpinned by a jamboree of sound design full of wood, plastics, materials bumping up, rubbing up and impacting against one another. Background Fruit: Fruit is a simple fun piece which is about human interaction and fruit and the desire behind the childs longing for an orange which leads to total chaos. How we did it: The 4 x idents have a small making of film to accompanying the idents. Sky Arts HD Fruit is a full of small artefacts which build up the main sound design score, accompanied by a playful yet exotic music score which teeters between something known and something quite fantastical. The clash of notes is the beauty in how this works. Sounds we created include: Fruit, Child Fruit lunge, organic ambience, musical score,Wood, Deck, Music, Sea, Wind, Plastics, Materials, Hall acoustics, Music Score, Violin Theme, Sound Design, Ribbon, Swooshes, Swishes,Liverpool, Music Score, Atmos, Bike, Sound Design, Ribbon, Swooshes, Swishes+ More details

To Download the free Ableton Live Pack for ESKAMON: "Fine Objects", visit http://www.ESKAMON.com Video tutorial shown here by http://www.illGates.com ESKAMON is the new collaboration project between Amon Tobin (Ninja Tune) & Eskmo (Warp, Planet Mu, Ancestor). “Fine Objects” is the first single by the duo that’s set for release on Eskmo’s own imprint “Ancestor.” “Fine Objects” is the result of the pair’s unique take on sonic exploration and the manipulation of field recordings. From the onset, the two went out with a recorder, gathering sounds from around the house, yard and studio. Material recorded out of the studio included sounds from a parking garage elevator, a broken harp and the droning tones from a discarded piano. These were combined with more home-centric sounds to form the central theme to the song. With lumbering alien bass and intentionally dry, off-kilter percussion, “Objects” quickly grew into it’s own symbolic representation of taking “odd pieces” and allowing them to grow into something a bit more “refined and ablaze.” As part of the release ESKAMON released a free WAV sample pack of the sounds created in the song. From these original WAVs, an Ableton Live pack was also created by ill. Gates for the project and given out for free with the release as well. This video is the tutorial ill.Gates shot to help explain the features he made on the Ableton side of the project. “Fine Objects” (Ancestor, ANC004) http://ancestormedia.com/ANC004.html Written and produced by Amon Tobin & Brendan Angelides Publishing: Just Isn't Music / Ancestor Publishing - ASCAP+ More details
