Here Sokuzan talks about their not being any particular right form as opposed to wrong. What may work for one person as a spiritual path or structure for practice may not work for someone else--just as one teacher may be good for you and helpful to you and not to someone else. It seems to be important to look closely at these various traditions and what you need to do, the path you need to follow will become apparent whether you need to do creation/completion practice as taught in the Tibetan tradition or formless meditation, or shikantaza, in the Zen tradition--or something altogether different. It is not about choice. There is really no fork in the road.
