Not since 1984 has street racing been a part of the sports scene at Fair Park. On March 17th grand prix-style racing returned, as kart racers took to the streets in the first ever Texas Lone Star Grand Prix. Much of the course followed the course formerly used for Formula One racers in the Dallas Grand Prix. http://www.lonestargrandprix.us/ Intro is a kind of throw back to my first ever video, shot back in April of 2010... Seems like so long ago. http://vimeo.com/11281181 If you like the video, please take a second to like my new facebook page Shofner Films Facebook.com/ShofnerFilms

The 3rd race in our 8-event Senna Series, taking place on Autobahn's NORTH TRACK. At 1.56 miles, the top qualifiers were completing laps in the low 1:02 minutes range. I had a disappointing qualifying at 8th Place due to a front splitter out of adjustment. With little downforce, I was pushing through every corner. The guys from GP Racing Products adjusted the splitter for the race, and I headed out to grid. Bill Howard had qualified 9th, and when I pulled in front of him, he noticed my rear wing had a broken bolt. It would have been a dangerous situation for all, and he alerted his crew, who in-turn alerted me. I contacted Ryan from GP, and had to leave grid with just 2-minutes prior to the race. It was a mad rush to repair the broken bolt, and I was fortunate to catch the pack on their 2nd pace lap just before the GREEN. It was definitely an exciting start, as I came from last to 5th in the first lap, and ran 3rd for a bit as well. 2-BIG mistakes resulted in a 5th place at the checker, and some great video.

Formula Mazda practice session 12/10/08 What started out as just a shakedown session for a setup a friend wanted critiqued ended up being a thrilling 'race' between another driver and I for top honors in the session. The car did very well even though the setup has a very strong understeer trait that I'm working on fixing for the other driver (who is not shown in the video). A keen eye will see that I was working very hard at reducing the understeering which was EXTREMELY difficult though I think the session went well. Once the strong understeering trait is fixed for sure the car will be able to drive much much faster as long as the driver is up for it as well. The only change made to the setup was changing the rear anti roll bar to firm instead of soft and the front to soft instead of firm. This helped immensely over the original setting but the understeering was still extremely strong. That said I'm rather proud the setup did so well as I had literally never turned a lap on it until then. I recieved the setup just prior to entering this session for it's shakedown. Very clean driving of course from both drivers and the utmost respect was shown between both of us during and after the battle. I appologize about the color balance issue in the video but I'm new to Windows Movie Maker and don't know how to fix that so it looks like the original clips the video was made from. I'd GLADLY take the help if anyone knows how to fix it. Also I cannot find an option to run the video at anything higher than 29.97fps which is only half of what it really is if anyone knows how to change that in the encoder. It looks much slower without it :( I'm in the brown car and the other car is red (similar to Ferrari Scuderia Rosso). Sorry for not listing full driver names as I did not ask permission for this so I don't think it's right thus I won't list his nor my full name. If you are a driver in this series though message me and perhaps we can set up a session together like this :) 12 drivers were involved in this session though I did not list all of the times just the top 7 positions to give an idea of how close the times were among majority of the drivers that have already learned the circuit. Kei
