My trip to the Galapagos and beyond 10-13-2011 through 10-26-2011. We used Galapagos Travel tour services who set everything up for us. The boat we were on was the Tip Top IV - Rolf Wittmer's. Both companies were excellent, I highly recommend them. Music in the slide show is by Bon Iver, Death Cab of Cutie, & Eddie Vedder.

This was a recent trip to the Galapagos Islands. This tour was arranged by GAP Adventures and is a must see for any adventurous travellers who love nature and animals. We were blown away by the beauty seen on each of the different islands. Russ Prefontaine

Find out what possessed a then 22 year old Rob Stewart to put everything on the line to make a documentary about sharks. I really wanted to give viewers insight into Rob's journey as filmmaker and on a personal level do justice to the incredible footage I had the good fortune to play with.

Enjoy a day by day tour of our exclusive itinerary as we tour the Western islands of the archipelago. The Western Islands are the youngest and most volcanically active Islands in the Galapagos and home to a truly astounding array of wildlife and diverse geology.

In August 2007, we spent time in Quito, Ecuador before flying to Baltra and boarding the Galapagos Aggressor. At that time we were only allowed to make a few land tours. We had been before in 2005 and got to swim with the penguins as well. It is truly one of the most magical places on earth. It's a shame I hadn't gotten my underwater housing yet because my experiences with whale sharks were incredible. They'll be forever burned in my mind.

Some 960 kilometers off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos Archipelago is famed throughout the world for its unique plant and animal species. Sea Shepherd has always considered the Galapagos one of the world’s last untouched wildernesses. But even in this remote part of the world, human encroachment is taking a heavy toll on this fragile eco-system. Sea Shepherd considers Galapagos an ongoing campaign and possibly one of the most important in our history as well as for the survival of the human race. After all, if we can’t protect something as unique as the Galapagos Islands, we are doomed as a species. In this short film, produced in 2011, we present to you the work that we have been carrying out in order to assist in the protection of the Galapagos Marine Reserve and the life within it. www.seashepherd.org/galapagos
