2014 2:37 min (Excerpt) Video Projection (Looped) wood and cardboard sculpture Installation View of Sculptural Screen, exhibited at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery's 'West Midlands Open 2014' exhibition, October 2014-February 2015. Juxtaposing traditional cinematic projection with irregular non-traditional surfaces and scales playfully examines the definition of “screen”; an object that at once reveals and obscures. The screen’s precarious and dangerous presence in the space creates an intimidating but beguiling art object, one which challenges our relationship to video screens whilst celebrating its potential as a launchpad for human creativity and ideas.

Watershed Arts promotes visual art, artists, adult education, meaningful conversation and community! We are a non-profit (501-c3) arts organization founded by volunteers and housed inside The Gallery at the Watershed in Eugene, Oregon. Starting in the spring of 2014, we gathered great teachers and began classes. We organized events and discussions about modern and contemporary visual art. We created Eugene’s first steamroller printmaking exhibition enjoyed by over 700 people of all ages. We saw something missing in our community; a place where adults from all backgrounds could learn about art. Not just take an art class, but touch on the deeper stuff and leave with fresh perceptions. So we’ve been building that place, sending out ripples in the pond, gathering enthusiastic artists and art supporters. Now we need your donation to keep this momentum going! We think that the art of our time can lead us to important conversations. Great art is the great connector. Watershed Arts is helping to make Eugene a thriving visual arts hub. Don’t you agree it’s time? Wouldn’t you like to be a part of that? Please give. This is a chance to not just “say” you support the arts, but truly help move our city’s culture into the future. And you’ll get a nifty gift too! Your donation helps us to “keep the lights on” literally and figuratively, so we can continue stimulating talks and build art connections. We’d love to produce another summer outdoor art experience called Great Big Art. We can’t run on volunteer hours and good will alone. Every donation helps! Together, let’s generate excitement around new art possibilities for Eugene. Tell others about this campaign. Donate today!
