Music by Leonard Nimoy. “If I Was a Carpenter" // Geffen Records. Canon EOS 60D. Tamron 17-50mm VC. VSCO Film 02. I’ve learned that sometimes it takes good friends from out of town to show you all over again how beautiful San Francisco is. Lisa visited SF back in March for the first time and showing Her and the Gals around gave me a whole new appreciation for the Bay Area. From Point Reyes in the northlands of Marin to the winding roads of Big Sur at sunset. I live within walking distance of some of the most beautiful places in the city and the Lands End Trail has to be one of the best. I can enjoy peace and quiet on a morning run over the cliffs or gather friends for a sunset date with the Golden Gate Bridge basking in the distance. If only you could feel the air that breezes through these northern California lands while watching this. Do yourself a favor and take a little trip!

The Point Bonita YMCA (a non-profit community organization) produced this video with the help of McAfee productions in order to show you the value of outdoor education for school-age youth. We believe that learning happens best when students are taught holistically--addressing mind, body and spirit. For example, our science, history, team-building sessions are woven into an experience that embraces youth development, healthy living, social responsibility, and principles of sustainability. The Golden Gate National Parks were established in 1972 to preserve and protect remarkable parklands north and south of the Golden Gate. Take a moment and try to imagine if that did not happen. In the Marin Headlands, there were plans to build a 50,000-person planned community named Marincello, with 15-story towers and many private homes. Concerned Bay Area residents rallied together and created a national park instead. Through ongoing community engagement and support from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, these PARKS FOR ALL FOREVER will continue to thrive for generations to come. Get a peek at the future we avoided by protecting our Golden Gate National Parks.

This film documents actions that accompany an object; a very big, bulk bag traditionally used to transport foodstuffs and landscaping materials. A self portrait, this site specific performance reflects upon the individual's comfort in public places and ways privacy preferences can be maintained. Filmed on Veterans Day, 2011 it is a special tribute to the work of those at war and lost lives. The setting is a derelict military structure: Battery Townsley located in the Golden Gate Recreation Area, Marin, CA Part of 11.11.11 One Day on Earth.
