I used this process on "Actif-Passif" music video of the singer Philippe G shot on gh1 during about one week of work. I am new to the whole Gh2 phenomenon. Just got my Gh2 last week so I decided to do a small test. Coming from Canon DSLR's, the Gh2 workflow is much different. I'd appreciate any tips on getting optimal performance out of the Gh2.

I just received my Fotodiox micro four thirds to EOS lens adapter. I tested the only two canon lenses I own which are the Canon EF 50mm 1.4 and the Sigma 17-50mm 2.8. Both lenses produced some really nice images especially the 50mm 1.4. Sorry for the shakiness on the 50mm 1.4 test, The camera body wasn't fully locked into the tripod base plate so follow focus was giving it the shakiness you see in the footage. Both lenses aperture were wide open. No Grading log & transferred from the SDHC card into Final Cut pro, Apple Prores 422. Panasonic GH2 Settings: ISO: 640 Aperture: Sigma: 2.8___Canon 50mm: 1.4 Shutter: 1/50 Cinema Mode: Frame Rate: 24p Thoughts on the Gh2: I just received the GH2 on Friday from Unique Photo I had the chance to do one other test. which can be found here. http://vimeo.com/18374328 Not the best test footage due to it being graded. This was more of an art piece that I have been wanting to do for some time. I am very pleased with the GH2 so far, like I said I have only owned the camera for 4 days but it seems to perform well. I am getting use to the menus, I am use to the Canon Rebel T2i which is a camera that I love. It was a mission to get my hands on the GH2 since it's sold out pretty much everywhere. According to Unique photo they are getting shipments on a daily basis. The best part is the price. I picked up the GH2 body for $737 and paid $164 for the 14-42mm Lumix lens. Smoking hot deal it came brand new sealed in the box. Pictures of the lenses mounted on the GH2 http://picasaweb.google.com/mrk177/LENSTEST?feat=email# It gives the camera more of a serious look to it. The 14-42mm makes the GH look like a toy in my opinion. Which doesn't matter really in the end it's all about making the best possible story and shooting nice footage.

A short test to demonstrate the difference between the Standard, Cinema, Smooth and Nostalgic picture profiles found on the GH2. It's quite interesting to see the difference in video format! I'd encourage downloading a higher quality original if you can. Personally, from this test, I'd avoid Cinema profile if I'm shooting low light. It exposes a darker image which could require an ISO bump that might not be needed with the other settings. From the test I think I prefer the Smooth with -2,-2,0,0 but please be the judge of it yoursel! All other setting, exposure, ISO, white balance were the same between shots.

My first GH2 test accidentally turned into my first backstage shooting when we met couple of guys making photos for some spanish mag. GH2 setup: - creative mode 24p - nostalgic mode amended (all values set up to - 2, NR to 0) - rec quality: FSH - exposure mode: M - ISO: 3200 - shutter 50/100 no color correction - in the end of video it became little bit dark but it reflects precisely graveyard atmosphere :)

Two nice lenses here. I just got the SLR Magic 'hyperprime' and am testing it out. So far I really like it, even as a photo lens. The build quality is excellent. The Mamiya / Sekor came on a Praktica camera I bought for $5 at a flea market. That was a good deal as the lens is very nice as you can see and its in great condition for a 40+ year old lens. Its just not as fast as some of my other 50mm lenses. Nevertheless the two seem to be a good match in terms of sharpness and color rendering. No color correction was done except in the above shot because it was slightly over exposed. Thanks to cbrandin, VK and thepalalias
