British glass artist Laura McKinley discusses her work at London Glassblowing - one of Europe's oldest hot-glass studios, founded by Peter Layton in 1976. Laura studied glass at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University, graduating in 2008. After a session at Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, a widely renowned glass school set up by Dale Chihuly, she went on to work at LoCo Glass. During her time with LoCo, Laura gained a scholarship to create a body of work for the Fresh Air Sculpture Show in 2010 and she began working at London Glassblowing shortly afterwards. Her ongoing body of work, Symbiosis, explores the relationship between two interconnected blown forms which are mutually dependant on the others existence for balance and stability. Each blown piece embodies its own character which is accentuated through the process of cutting and polishing, thereby exposing voids which enable the viewer to see both the internal and exterior spaces.

Every single idea, which meant to change something on its own way, has an urge to destruct and to create an area for building something new. The concept of the "Process" tries to catch and to show the gaps between the evolution of art pieces, designs and the inspiration focals, like one of the nature’s most strange ways to survive: Suspended animation
