I usually get to the subway just in time to watch the Wilshire train go by, then I sit around for 10 minutes reading or listening to my iPod. This is what I was looking at today when I was leaned up against the back-wall eating Nutter Butters and reading 'An Unfinished Life'. Here's Erica's :) http://www.vimeo.com/2293800

This is my first ever time lapse film. It was very trial and error, which was frustrating at times. Vimeo seems to have taken away some of the quality too, which is annoying. I edited the film in Photomatix Pro, StarStax, Lightroom 4, Quicktime Pro and Final Cut Pro 7. This film is just the tip of the iceberg as to what will be coming next. Realized that my meditation on American History (Heroes and Villains) was maybe not so family friendly for folks who just want to remember how cute their kids once were, I decided to Christen my new computer, but doing a rated G version. A variety of media techniques are used to show this fluid journey through a dreamscape, where time and space skip and jump like a train of thoughts, barely under control. There is a constant search not only to hold onto the images, but to hold on to a past now only dreamt and remembered – places, people and experiences forgotten in the distractions of the present. The vague discovery of a camera acts as an attempt to achieve this and cling to these images, which are experienced as a reality but aren't quite real, and like all memories, and dreams, are destined to slowly fade. http://helennias.co.uk/projects/where-i-end-up.html 2010 / UCA Maidstone Media: Video 8, Hi8, DV, super 8mm, animated black and white photograms, 35mm prints and digital stills
