This past Valentine’s Day weekend I had the pleasure of traveling to Garner, NC to capture a wonderful couple’s new beginning. This highlight shows some of the Ballroom Transformation “Flip” from Ceremony to Reception – look closely, and you might recognize a few FB family faces. Weddings are after all, about re-uniting close and extended family and friends, even if only for a few hours. The entire celebration (Pre-Ceremony through Send Off) lasted over 8 hours. Thanks to Derek and Sam for assisting with the shoot.+ More details

Sue Rakes Wedding Photography, located in Raleigh NC, and Leslie Mills, award-winning wedding photographers created these wedding images at the Grand Marquise Ballroom in Garner NC! We photographed the most loving and supportive family and friends at this lovely wedding venue. Elana Walker, of Savoir-Faire, Event Planning and Management made wedding preparations for the The Jones Chapel wedding on the always scenic Meredith Campus in Raleigh. After Aisha and Arlie jumped the broom and became husband and wife they their wedding ceremony from the Jones Chapel for the Grand Marquise Ballroom in their vintage car as the wind almost swept us all away. I have to say that the Grand Marquise Ballroom is one of the finest reception venues we have been delighted to photograph a wedding in. The second a guest walks in to this elegant ballroom I know they think, "whoa, this is one grand affair". And it was the exact color our bride wanted from her wedding photography-Purple! "The stately and elegant presence of marble columns, ornate trim and decorated ceilings complimented the warm glitter of the crystal chandeliers in the ballroom". The food, flora and centerpieces created by Catering Works were exemplary as always. Cinda’s Creative Cakes designed an absolutely fabulous wedding cake fit for a queen adorned with the broach the 10 fashionable bridesmaids wore. Elana, at Savoir-Faire planned everything perfectly. It could not have been a more lovely wedding reception as you will see! Aisha found her most elegant gown at Poffie Girls, a boutique near Charlotte recognized by The National Bridal Service as one of America’s most beautiful bridal salons. It was obvious that Aisha felt like a Princess in her gorgeous gown! Our wedding couple took a sneak peek of their decorated reception venue all dressed up, sampled a little intimate dance in their ballroom before guests entered and were seated for the couple to make their grand entrance down the dramatic stairway. Dancing, orchestrated by DJ MassAppeal, Brian Massie was some of the best, as Brian had this crowd bringing their best boogie! Our wedding couple had the kind of wedding all girls dream about, but most of all, they found a way to share their day with all of her friends and family who so obviously adore them both! What great fun to be a part of this most blessed day! Good love to you all!+ More details
