What started as a test of the Canon FD 35-70mm f4 soon became a very memorable and tension thick experience exploring the Bandeath Munitions site. It began as a Admiralty Depot during World War I, built by POW's from a nearby camp and was later used as a Royal Naval Armament Depot during World War II. The history of this location has left a grim feeling in the air, of something that once had a purpose but has now passed on, leaving behind the rusting reminders of our bloody past. If you didn't know the history behind the location you could believe at first as I did that it has very close similarities to a POW camp, the sheep have now filled that position. Music is Gustav Holst - Mars,The Bringer of War

I was fortunate to have the opportunity under a very tight time frame to meet and capture the multi-talented Harold Jimenez Canizales. Proclaiming to be an artist, graphic designer and animator; after looking at his body of work and hearing his story for a few hours was enough to suggest that he is what’s on the tin and then some. We were also lucky enough that the kind folks over at www.planbbooks.co.uk and in particular Peter Renshaw opened their unique and humble graphic novel coffee shop to allow us to capture Harold’s story. In this episode we delve into Harold’s perception of design which relates with his favoured use of pixel art. His hunger to creatively challenge his discipline and techniques has led Harold into the realm of innovation, creating a personal method of designing by using only horizontal and vertical lines. In particular he uses this technique when creating portraits which he has dubbed as “the quadricature” and was kind enough to create one of myself. Harold’s technique can be found by following this link to his website http://www.canizales.eu/illustration/personal/quadricatures/ For more information on Planbbooks please visit their website at www.planbbooks.co.uk or better still pop in for a browse and a coffee at 55 Parnie Street, Glasgow. To view more of Harold’s work and to contact him then please head on over to www.canizales.eu To view the full blog post please head over to my website at http://www.greenervisuals.net/blog-2/ Please watch the episode in HD if possible and I hope you enjoy. Last October we were lucky enough to meet the unique and intriguing duo Markee de Saw, performing Israphels Book as part of the Glasgay Cabaret Festival. The duo describe the show as “a story of song and fire, dreams and lies, a 45 minute musical meander that attempts to uncover the real story of de Saw and Finkle.” They revealed the duo’s origination with us before the show and gave an insight into their individual creative backgrounds along with their personal views on cabarets position in today’s society. Thanks to the Rose & Grants cafe for having us and the Glasgay Festival for providing fantastic acts. If you wish to see Markee de Saw in the future then you can view their next show on their facebook page by following this link http://en-gb.facebook.com/pages/Markee-de-Saw-Bert-Finkle/136670359702461?sk=events&key=past To view my full blog post please follow this link http://www.greenervisuals.net/2013/01/09/a-night-with-markee-de-saw/
