1. Handlebars - The Client Side Template Takeover

What is Handlebars? Handlebars is a client side templating system used in place of harder to read Javascript (JS) functions. Why Handlebars? Handlebars makes client side templating human readable. Where before Front End (FEs) developers would have to write complex JS functions to manipulate data into HTML; now FEs can write code in a more familiar fashion, straight HTML with a few handles for the data output.

        • Mountain Bike ride from the top of Sin Nombre through Two Foxes in Point Magu State Park

Mountain Bike ride from the top of Sin Nombre through Two Foxes in Point Magu State Park. The Park is 12-15 miles North of the Los Angeles County and Ventura County Line in Ventura County, South of Point Magu Naval Warfare Center and the California Air National Guard Base on Highway 1 directly across from Big Sycamore Cove or Sycamore Cove State Beach. The park is great for beginner and intermediate riders. There are downhill and freeriding possible but you must cross country ride from Westlake Village or Highway 1 to the middle of the park and huck your machine up the north and north west trails to gain sufficient altitude. The trail shown in the video can be accessed in the East of the park from Ranch Center Road, a paved road, prior to an uphill climb up to Coyote trail which is closed. The trail in the video ends at Wood canyon trail not Wood Canyon fire road. You will cross the bottoms of Wood Canyon fire road and the Coyote trail along the way. The trail follows the canyon stream on the north side and the stream is crossed once in a hairpin that slows you up three quarters of the way through. The stream is dry most of the time. As with all single tracks, people and opposing spinners are always going the hard effort way. The video was taken with a Drift Innovations X170 with the exposure gain reduced -0.5 because I was riding directly into the sun. The trail is frequently covered and exposed in shade constantly through the ride. Speed on the drops can reach 30Mph with flats maintained between 15-20Mph. Lots of bobbing and weaving to maintain speed and keep peddling. You will run into traffic, hairpins and off camber S's, so be nimble on the front fork and braking and don't be afraid to sit back on the rear rim while carving. Your bike will go through lots of shock packing. I suggest a plush setting for the rear and quicker rebound and full travel in the front fork.

          • Handle Bar Test 2

            from Joey Bike / Added

I usually run my 2 inch tires at 50 psi. For this test I ran the front tire at 30 psi and it made a huge improvement in the camera jiggling department with the camera attached to the handlebars. I ran over a variety of surfaces to test the new setup - smooth roads, substandard roads, trolley tracks, train tracks, and even a little cross-country. These results are quite acceptable. Previous tests on rough streets were disappointing to put it mildly. I was amazed when I previewed the raw vid that even the cross-country ride filmed well.
