Simplicity is an experimental video inspired by the book Walden. This piece represents my journey through both contemporary philosophy and transcendentalism. I felt that I was torn between two words - complexity vs. simplicity. And thus, I set out to represent this through images and sounds, learning that the world is never truly black and white. I give special thanks to Henry Thoreau for helping me see the grey. Created by student: Chantal Soldini+ More details

Henry Thoreau (1817-1862) spent two years living alone at Walden Pond in Massachusetts; he thought everyone should do likewise. A champion of individualism and civil disobedience, a naturalist, an abolitionist, a critic of civil development, and a tax resister, he was considered by some an anti-government anarchist, which he disputed. Eric Rudolf (1966-) is an American convicted for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bombing. He is a self-described social activist, a naturalist, a radical anti-abortionist, and a critic of civil development who is often considered an anti-government anarchist, which he disputes. He is now imprisoned, after having spent five years living as a fugitive in the mountains of North Carolina.+ More details

First solo exercise for Paul Henley's Beyond Observational Cinema course Granada Center for Visual Anthropology (Manchester, 2013) Filmed and edited in seven hours. “People need wild places… To be surrounded by a singing, mating, howling commotion of other species, all of which love their lives as much as we do ours, and none of which could possibly care less about us in our place. It reminds us that our plans are small and somewhat absurd. It reminds us why, in those cases in which our plans might influence many future generations, we ought to choose carefully.” Barbara Kingsolver http://savealexandraparkstrees.wordpress.com+ More details

(Recomendable escuchar con auriculares) ----------------------- This video is an audiovisual collaboration in which we have been filming video in some different natural landscapes locations, and mixed the footage with the sounds taken independently from the same landscapes. We wanted to represent some of these spaces that we like and show our own perception of the nature. Trying to bring into focus, besides the visual aspects of it, the wide range and powerful sounds that we can found in the nature. "Forest Dream Code"is a 9-minute single-channel video that's based on a two-screen video installation I created for the "Dada/Data" show held jointly at the UMBC Center for Art & Visual Culture and Maryland Art Place in 1991. In this work, I blend various scenes (carnival, ATM banking, warped television) with quotations from Henry David Thoreau and Octavio Paz, along with music by Charles Ives, to evoke a sense of man's growing separation from nature.+ More details
