64 by Chance is a generative Interview with John Cage. It is based on Cages methods and thoughts to eliminate his own intentions in his compositions. A random generator produces one out of 64 symbols of the ancient chinese I Ging. A Collection of 64 symbols and corresponding texts which can be seen as prophecies, advises or awnsers to specific situations. Cage used the I Ging as a random generator to arrange or combine pieces of his compositions. 64 by Chance uses the I Ging to recombine 64 audio snippets of equal length from an interview by John Cage. The resulting rearangement is visualized and presented in realtime. written in Processing the original interview kann be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNyvZznMmqM
