Mountain bike touring, August 2012, from Winter Park to Boulder, Colorado. Trestle crossings, nice fast two track, alpine lakes, and the barricaded Needle's Eye Tunnel. The pass tops out at 11,660 ft (3,554 m). This pass is also known as "Corona Pass" and was the main railroad line between Denver and the Winter Park area until the long, underground, Moffat Tunnel was completed.

Expedition „Koordinata - McKinley 2013” Society „Koordināta” in cooperation with the film studio „Vides Filmu studiju” (Wildlife and Environmental Film Productions) organizes high-altitude expedition to Alaska, to the highest mountain in North America – McKinley (6194m). Expedition aim is to reach the peak in mixed style: high-altitude and alpine style. By creating a documentary film cycle about McKinley’s mountaineering history of 100 years, which comes in summer 2013, we will present the people whose lives have been closely associated with the mountain, and show the historical ascent of Latvian climbers and look at the harsh northern natural beauty. In recent years, Latvian Television demonstrated as well Latvian as foreign documental films, which shows some travel stories and adventures. Unfortunately, these films are not reflected in high-altitude mountain expeditions, whose reception requires serious work and training, but professional films about the Latvian climbers climbing are not filmed at all.

A curious Himalayan marmot inspects the area around his burrow, while the mountain of Shiva looms in the background. Marmots are curious little creatures that have an acute sense of smell but, often, very average eyesight. One can often get quite close to them if due caution is exercised, to stay downwind of them. These furry mountain dwellers reside in the high Himalaya throughout the year, going into deep hibernation in the bitterly cold - frigid- Himalayan winter. I shot this video near the monastery of Driraphuk, at an altitude of 4950 M in South Western Tibet, on a trail going up to the north face of the sacred Mt. Kailash. This mountain is considered to be the sacred abode of Shiva 'Lord of the cosmic dance' The spectacular - sheer- north face(the aspect seen in this video), can be reached after traversing the tricky Kangkyam glacier and is considered to be one of the most beautiful mountain vistas to be seen anywhere. The jerky nature of the video is unavoidable as it was shot on a phone camera, without any stabilizer, in the rarefied air at nearly 5000 M altitude with a bitterly cold wind blowing.
