Navan Fort is one site in a wider archeological landscape with Haughey’s Fort and the King’s Stables located to the west. Haughey’s Fort, named after a local farmer, was occupied by an aristocratic warlike community in the Late Bronze Age around 3,000 years ago. On a slope overlooked by Haughey’s Fort lies the Kings Stables, a boggy man-made pool, which dates from 1000BC. The artificial pond was used for sacrifice, reflecting a European-wide trend of water offerings. Featured in the Discover Navan Fort app http://navanfortapp.com/discover-navan-fort-app/

The impressive earthen enclosure which surrounds Navan Fort was built at the same time as the ceremonial mound, around 100BC. This circular earthwork consists of a bank with an internal ditch and is similar in profile to the enclosures at the other royal sites of Knockaulin, Rathcroghan and Tara. The Somali Advice and Forum of Information (SAAFI) worked in partnership with LIFT, Brent Museum and Archives and a team of volunteers to deliver the Northwest London Somali Project. We explored and captured the lives and the experience of Somali community in Brent in the form of oral history and photography. The project trained young people to conduct oral history interviews to: discover the experience of moving to or growing up in Brent; discuss what it means to be part of the Somali and Brent communities; and develop understanding between generations of Somali people and throughout the wider Brent community.

            • Mauro Biglino: Unexpected Bible - Translating it literally (3 of 6) - Eng. subs

              from Ronmamita / Added

FOR RESEARCH AND DISCUSSION ONLY Sepuste on Nov 24, 2011 Mauro Biglino translated 23 books of the Bible for the Vatican. He had to translate the Leningrad Codex (the version of the Bible which all three major monotheistic religions - Cristian, Jewish and Muslim - recognize as the official Bible) from the Hebrew, word by word, literally and with no interpretation whatsoever. That is to say, he's not a wannabe kabbalist, conspirationist or ufologist, since the official publishing organism of the Vatican approved and released those books, at least 17 of them. While working on the Bible, he realized that many of the stories this book tells where mistranslated, misinterpretated, mostly on purpose, in order to insert the notion of a spiritual, allmighty and unerring God. The picture he gives us of the bestseller of all times is surprisingly different from what we all were told. Actually, as soon as he released "THE BOOK THAT WILL FOREVER CHANGE OUR IDEAS ABOUT THE BIBLE - THE GODS COMING FROM SPACE", the Vatican suspended all further publications of Mauro Biglino's works: Let's discover why! • Working with Walt

                      from Second Story / Added

Visitors scroll through a scrapbook of archival images and interviews to reveal first-hand experiences working with Walt Disney during the development of Snow White. Three touch screens in a seating alcove offer visitors the opportunity to sit and explore behind-the-scenes at Hyperion Studios and working with Walt in the 1930s. The simple interface allows visitors to pan across a long scrapbook-like panel filled with things to explore. Videos of many of the artists and animators that worked on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs relate their experiences working on the film on colored panels punctuating the scrapbook. As the voices of the contributors play the surrounding content can be explored—which includes studies, posters, pictures, sketches, models and facts—revealing the creativity that gave birth to the first full-length cel-animated feature in motion picture history.
