How many of you have an older sibling? You were raised with big brothers or sisters? If you had older siblings, then I am sure at one time or another, you had this experience. They would pin you down somehow, and then take your hand and make you hit yourself repeatedly. They would say? “Stop hitting yourself”. As a little kid, you were powerless to stop weren’t you? They controlled you. Now we are older and we have probably done that to someone smaller than us. Come on, admit it. How many of you have been the giver of that? Many haven’t stopped yet. We are still hitting ourselves. Not physically slapping ourselves, but through addiction we are hitting ourselves. It’s a lot worse than when you were teased, because you are doing it to yourself for real. We are in a series called “Wounded” and we have talked about how life is hard. It can be painful because of what other people have done to us. Last week we even talked about what to do when you think God is the one wounding you. This week, we are going to look at the most damaging, self-inflicted wound we can give ourselves … ADDICTION. Bible Baptist Church, Darmstadt, Germany http://www.church-darmstadt.org

Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV - This week I bring part 2 of a great hitting clinic by UCLA coaching legend Sue Enquist. We rejoin UCLA Coach Sue Enquist for part two of her hitting clinic from the National Coaches Clinic. Sue moves into explaining bat lag and that it is measuring when the barrel comes into the zone and it is also the last time that the barrel and the hands are even. Hands should always be above the barrel on contact and they should be in front of your center of gravity. Move your weight off the backside, and no matter where the pitch comes in the elbow should be above the hands and the hands above the ball. A common misconception in batting is that batters should swing down on the high pitch or up on a low pitch. Your swing should always be the same, working your arms independently. Sue also shares that you want a slight bend in the arms at contact for maximum force. At toe touch all great hitters come together. Finally Sue provides players and coaches’ step by step instructions on how every hitter should move through their hitting motion for maximum force at contact. She also provides drills that are sure to improve your hitting. We are thrilled to bring you the full clinic from Sue Enquist and hope you see the improvement in your hitters. Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV -Join us for the follow up session with Todd Buckingham covering pre-game hitting. In this episode Todd breaks down each of his 30 minute hitting circuits. Todd has constructed 10 - 3 minute hitting stations that will target each area of a fastpitch softball players hitting technique. But remember, consistency is key, work on these stations in practice before trying to do them before a game. An important aspect to Todd’s pre-game warm-ups for any fastpitch softball team is making sure that each station is manned by a coach or someone to hold the player accountable for warming up correctly. Tune in as Todd breaks down his Front toss, bottom hand/top hand tee, inside/outside tee, leg drive, mini ball, heavy ball and bunt stations. He also explains exactly what each station focuses on and how it helps improve batting performance. Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV -J This week we have part 1 of the session Small Ball Equals Big Results form Softball Con. This session was given by Shonda Stanton. In this episode of Fastpitch TV we bring part one of Shonda Stanton’s clinic at SoftballCon talking about how small ball can lead to big results. Shonda says at her level they use a 27 or a 28 to first base and it is important to time on first contact unless they are a power slapper. There are several base running drills that will teach players how to be aggressive in their base running and base stealing. Shonda also shares her successful game commands in which she utilizes to keep players engaged whether they are in the dugout or on the field. This clinic teaches the different types of slap hitting, soft touch or power slapper and who you should utilize as your slappers. The biggest objective in these drills is just make contact and then give them a target and let them figure out how to get it to the target without guidance. This episode is packed with fastpitch softball drills from bunting to slapping and everything in between to make your small ball strategy a success.
