Shoel means "abode of the dead" in ancient Hebrew. In the later Christian literature, it was translated to what has become the modern concept of "hell". Using archival footage shot by the Army Signal Corp of Engineers after the liberation of Jewish prisoners in Nazi occupied Europe, filmmaker Marty Hardin reminds viewers of the horrors that lie behind the almost sanitary term "Holocaust". The true "abode of the dead" in a "hell" made by hands of man.

During one visit of the Berlin Jewish Museum in 2012, I started to perceive a sound similar to that made by hammers. Looking for the source of that sound and finding it made me experience the most unusual feeling. And this is the amazingly sad story behind it all: after you've put all your hopes and dreams above the realm of simple life, you were turned by vicious conditions into a number and subsequently came to be no more than a tiny piece of the master game, stepped over by indifference. Time to say NO to injustice of any kind happening just over our shoulder! Music: Gradual - Haec Dies by The Tudor Consort (http://tudor-consort.org.nz)
