    • Utah Grand Circle "Ruby" - America's Southwest

Filmed over two weeks in Utah and Arizona during November 2012. I had the pleasure of visiting "The Grand Circle," a 2000 mile route that winds through Arches National Park, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Antelope Canyon, the Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Mesa Verde, Natural Bridges, Canyonlands, and Grand Staircase-Escalante. It's the American Southwest, an ancient landscape of red rock and sand. Some of the off-the-beaten-path places were breathtaking. The cavern cascades are scenes from the "Subway" trail in Zion National Park. This hike is an exhausting 9 miles, scrambling over rocks and a dozen river crossings. The final stretch goes up slippery cascades into a dark and mysterious tunnel. Willis Creek is the canyon in the video with water and ice going through it, while Buckskin Paria is the gorge with rugged walls and cracked earth. Anasazi and Indian ruins are hidden throughout the landscape, and more than once, I found myself lost in the red. Subscribe for video updates! • Far and Wide :: Timelapse Cut

This is a collection of all time lapse shots I recorded during my July 2011 road trip from California to Minnesota visiting friends and National Parks along the way. The footage here, I'm sorry to say, really is not state of the art. With motion control rigs time lapse has come a long way to give us new perspectives and angles. So was sad I could not bring my own bulky DIY rig (no way they would let it on the plane). But then, this video was always a side project. Time was limited in the places leaving not much room for location scouting or waiting for ideal weather conditions. On the whole - I realized when making this video - it is rather a compilation than a unified video. So for me personally it lacks unity, the "golden thread" connecting things or something...but as part of the extended cut these shots will however nicely serve to reminiscence about the trip. There are imho some awesome weather scenes starting at 6:12 and especially the lightning cloud around 6:43 Locations: Monolake, Eureka Dunes, Death Valley, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon North and South Rim, Navajo Bridge, Horse Shoe Bend, Monument Valley, Arches, Wyoming, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Rockies, South Dakota Badlands

Last fall we took an epic 28 day road trip through the West Coast of America. After seeing all the cities, the roads, the national parks and the people only one word describes what we saw and experienced: Wild. We drove over 6500km, swam in an old volcano, ate delicious foods, got my camera bag and wife's wedding ring stolen and visited too many amazing places. I would highly recommend taking the trip! Almost all of it is filmed handheld on the GH4 using a Panasonic 12-35 f2.8 lens. We also had the DJI Phantom quadcopter with a GoPro to get the aerial shots. Additional footage from Jon Kuhn. Edited in Premiere Pro and colour graded using Vision Colors Impulz LUTs in After Effects. Music: Tony Anderson - "Eyes Wide Open" from the Musicbed

**Original file has been made avaialble for personal viewing in 4k via Vimeo download link below** Shot in and around Moab, Utah using a custom Skyjib octocopter platform. Video was filmed in 4K and edited in Adobe Premiere. **Please note, we maintain a flight policy to avoid fly directly over anyone. In the few shots containing people who may appear to be standing close to the helicopter/camera, they are not directly under the craft. Also, anyone who appears to be even somewhat close to the helicopter/camera was talked to before hand to ask their permission for us to fly in proximity, as well as to advise them of our desired flight path. I strongly recommend fellow multirotor pilots not to fly over events, crowds, or densely populated urban areas. And if you intend to fly in even remote proximity to a person or persons, make sure they have given express permission and been advised of the flight path.** Octocopter Pilot - Ian Cresswell Octocopter Engineer - Bert McMahan Gimbal Pilot - Tim Harley Ground Station - Owen Herndon Music: "For So Long" by MITIS http://www.mitismusic.com http://www.facebook.com/mitismusic http://www.soundcloud.com/mitis Contact email: videolandscapes@gmail.com

In may, we spent 11 full days in US West National Parks around Las Vegas. The itinerary was Las Vegas (NV) -> Kingman (AZ) -> Sedona (AZ) via Gerome -> Grand Canyon (South Rim, AZ) -> Page (AZ) -> Bryce Canyon (UT) -> Zion (UT) We were 4 (with Max’s sister and brother in law), with an RV, and we were very lucky with the ideal weather for timelapses and expressives clouds. We are traveling since 2008 together around the world, and West USA are the most beautiful landscapes we haver ever seen, especially the Grand Canyon and Horse Shoe Bend in Page (AZ). You will understand we really enjoyed this trip... And we still have so many landscapes and national parks to see in this West...!! "The Western World" is a series of clips that I shot over the past 3 months during my Spring internship. I had the awesome opportunity to assist Tom @ Timescapes with his debut non-narrative feature film "Southwest Light." I got to spend 3 months on the road with Tom, and I can say that it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I got to see so much in so little amount of time, and I feel like I owe Tom a lot for taking me under his wing and showing me the ropes. Thanks Tom! You are a huge inspiration to me and I loved every minute of the time spent out shooting with you! All shots are from various locations in California and Arizona. All still photos, no video. Shot on Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and 7D with Canon L series 14mm, 16-35mm, 24mm, 24-105mm, and 70-200mm lenses. Enjoy!
