We left winter behind and headed to the sun to try and turn our latest dream into reality. we put up a line between 2 hot air balloons to try our first completely movable highline. All of the Skyliners team was excited to put their skills to the test on such an amazing line... We'll be going back again very soon to make it happen - watch this space! Every year the city of Albuquerque host the largest hot air balloon event in the world, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Each morning begins very early as a group of 6-12 hot air balloons known as Dawn Patrol, ascent into the deep blue sky before sunrise. These skilled pilots test wind and weather conditions as other pilots and crew begin to lay out hundreds of balloons across the field. Just as dawn breaks, the next wave of balloons begin to lift off. When the sun rises above the Sandia Mountains it simultaneously fills the morning with beautiful light as the balloons fill the sky with color. The next 60-90 minutes are a great mix of fun and chaos as several hundred more balloons lift off, wave after wave. I had a absolute blast capturing this nine day festival. Even though the weather cancelled several events it was nevertheless an incredibly beautiful and successful time! Thank you for taking the time to watch :) This short film only shows about half of the footage I captured. Stay tuned for a longer, extended cut :) See more of my work and follow along at : www.facebook.com/kn8photo www.knatephoto.com instragram @KnatePhoto www.500px.com/knatemyers Music by: Xan Ft. https://roadtrippers.com/places/albuquerque-international-balloon-fiesta-albuquerque-2/55263 You've never seen a hot air balloons like this before. A couple weeks ago, Albuquerque, New Mexico held its 41st annual International Balloon Fiesta. It's a 9-day event where over 700 balloons see liftoff. It's the largest hot air balloon festival in the entire world and we were on hand to capture the action. Turn the Volume up, HD on and enjoy this Balloon Fiesta Experience! *if you are capable of watching in a higher resolution than 1080p go to http://youtu.be/l8YaMK4-MYg and choose original as this film was finished in 4k* Beep.. Beep.. Beep.. The Alarm goes off at 4 am. Time to get ready for a morning full of hot air balloons! Eat a quick breakfast, grab the batteries off the chargers, cameras and warm clothes and head out for the field! This was my favourite part of shooting the Balloon Fiesta. The early morning anticipation running around the field in the dark trying to find the row of balloons that will go off for dawn patrol! The Balloon's will be all laid out on the ground and just as you start to see some light back-lighting the Sandia's mountains the first group of balloons start to inflate. These are the best pilots who go up before the sunrise to find out what the wind conditions will be like for the day. They take off one after another into the dark of the morning. And then it all starts to get crazy! Dawn Ascension is when all of the balloons (excluding dawn patrol) take off one after another starting just before the sunrise. There is so much to see and so many absolutely massive balloon's littering the field. Before you know if your staring at a balloon that looks like Darth Vader that is taking off right in front of you! The sky is filled with balloons at this point and it seems like they are never going to stop! 500+ balloons take off in the span of an hour and a half! When the field finally starts to empty it's time to jump in your vehicle and chase after the still flying balloons! They will land anywhere they can in Albuquerque. From school yards, to back yards to the middle of the street it is always a fun experience chasing down a big balloon! After a lot of d-bag at standard altitude with the same team, the Cat Acro Team and Balloon Concept wanted to push the flight to another level. We requested an aerial traffic control authorization to reach the altitude of 6000m (FL 195). To ensure the good physical conditions of the pilots before the drop, they were supplied with oxygen from the hot air balloon. Many thanks to our main partners : TOTAL Suisse and ADR Toitures. The season 2013 is over and it's time to have a look on my new showreel with the highlights of my work as filmmaker, cameraman and editor specialized in aviation films and aerial disciplines videos. This year started in January with the aerial filming of the new "Total Gaz" Eco Balloon over "Le Creux-du-Van" in Switzerland. The rest of the season I was mainly involved on two important projects : the video cover of the Patrouille Suisse on several airshows in Switzerland and abroad and the filming of my new forthcoming documentary about the Super Constellation. Each project, independently of the amount of work, is first of all a team work. Many thanks to all of you (my friends, the pilots, the mechanics, the airshows organizers, ...) for your collaboration in my video projects. A special thanks to Franziska for her important support and her help on filmings or at home when I work long hours on my Mac for editing. Balloon paperApp is a new type of game combining both a book and an iPad®. With this paper video game you get both a regular book and a pop-up paper hot air balloon to lay on top of your iPad screen. You are the hot air balloon pilot, and you will discover an ever changing world as you fly with the wind. With your fingers, you can control the wind's direction to have your Balloon lift up or go down, to land on the ground, fly through the clouds, hit tags on the ground and pass close to birds and other characters. Two types of Gameplay are possible: • In the classical Game, you pilot a virtual hot air balloon with your fingers. • In another game version, you lay the hot air balloon pop-up on top of your iPad screen, and will be able to see your balloon magically take off and drift gracefully over the land. This is the first book of the paperApp* collection by les éditions volumiques. * Game combining a book and an interactive App contact : support@volumique.com The book is available on the éditions volumiques store. http://www.volumique.com/shop/ more info : http://balloon.paper-app.com/index_en.html • Concept and Art direction : Étienne Mineur • Development : Julien Hognon • Sound design : Jean-Jacques Birgé & Sacha Gattino • Thank's to Julie Stephen Chheng • Age: 3 and beyond • Langages: English/French • Support: iPad 1 & iPad2 • The book is printed on Gesso Tintoretto, 300g/m2 • Book size 900/90 mm (open) • printer : Expression2 / Paris / France • les éditions volumiques 2012 © les éditions volumiques 2012
