      • Erkin Qədirli: "İnsan Hüquqları anlayışı"

Çərşənbə axşamı, oktyabrın 13-də Erkin Qədirli özünün ikinci mühazirəsi ilə Azad Fikir Universitetinin (AFU) tələbələri qarşısında çıxış etdi. Bu dəfə onun mühazirəsi insan hüquqları barəsində idi. Erkin öz mühazirəsinə insan hüquqlarının təkamülü və onların mənşəyinin insanların tərəfindən necə qavranılması ilə başladı. İnsan hüquqları bizə Allah tərəfindən bəxş edilib? Bəlkə bütün bu hüquqlar bizim hansısa dövlətin vətəndaşı olmağımızdan qaynaqlanır? Mühazirəsinin birinci yarısında Erkin bu tipli suallara cavab olaraq meydana çıxan müxtəlif nəzər nöqtələri və şərhlərlə tələbələri tanış eləməyə çalışdı. Auditoriya tərəfindən müzakirə olunana başqa bir məsələ qadın hüquqları anlayışı ilə bağlı oldu. Erkin tələbələr soruşdu – niyə qadın hüquqları insan hüquqlarından ayrılmalıdır? Məgər qadınlar insan deyillər? Yəni “qadın hüquqları” anlayışı bir linqvistik anlayışdır yoxsa digər nəsə var? Erkin eyni zamanda dövlətin gücü və insan hüquqlarının vəziyyəti arasındakı münasibətlərə və mütənasibliklərə toxundu. “Siz dövlətin hesabına nə qədər şey qurmaq istəsəniz, bir o qədər də sizin insan hüquqlarınız məhdudlaşacaq.” Və sonda, Erkin auditoriyaya çox dəyərli bir məsləhət verdi – insan hüquqlarını bir ideologiya kimi görməyin, bir format kimi qəbul edin.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, a group of New York Broadway artists come down to New Orleans to make a change. Reopening the doors of the storm-damaged St Mark's Community Center, they hold auditions for the musical Once On This Island and stage the show with thirteen kids from the community. A feature documentary, After the Storm, captures the lives of the kids and crew as they turn a gym into a theater, come together as a company, and create hope and purpose in the midst of devastation and despair.

90 second clip for the campaign 'NO PLACE LIKE HOME'. By 2050, there will be an estimated 150 million climate refugees, forced to leave their homes by droughts, extreme weather patterns and sea level rise. There is no international law designed to protect their needs. EJF talked to President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives and Premier Talagi of Niue about how climate change is affecting their countries. The Environmental Justice Foundation is a UK charity working internationally to protect the natural environment and human rights, campaigning for reductions in greenhouse gases, and calling for international protection for climate refugees. We believe that that there needs to be a legally-binding, international Protocol that identifies and protects these people displaced from their homes by deteriorating environmental conditions. The animation movie „Perdita“ is about a young girl which moves to a ficitive mexican bordertown in order to find work. At first the city appears peaceful, but then it turns out to be controlled by sinister shadow creatures. Looking at numerous posters of missing people Perdita finds out about the disappearance of young women. It seems like her suspicion that there is a connection between the shadow creatures and the abducted women turns out to be true. When she misses her bus after work in the factory and is forced to walk home all by herself it comes to an immediate confrontation. During her escape from the mysterious shadow creatures through the near desert Perdita is in danger of her life. But it turns out differently, not only for Perdita but also for the shadow creatures. The set of the movie is based on the real mexican city „Ciudad Juárez“. In „Ciudad Juárez“, which is located directly at the border to the USA, over 400 women and girls have disappeared under unsetteled circumstances since 1993. Neither the police nor the government have had the ability to stop the incidents let alone solve them adequately. In „Ciudad Juárez“, the conditions of life are colored with high amount of violence towards women and great potential of aggression within the male population. Protests against the slow or inexistent inquiries have been held for several years. The causes of the homocides are still not solved to this day. The movie´s fictional story displays the incidents of Ciudad Juárez and draws attention to this important issue.
