Our campaigns and media curricula train drivers, travel plaza employees, and related industry businesses to recognize and respond when they encounter an exploitive situation. iE’s US intervention project centers around our collaboration with Truckers Against Trafficking. We partner to engage the trucking industry and its 3 million drivers in combatting the child trafficking issue along our nations highways and at truck stops. Truckers are the eyes and ears of our nation's highway systems and are targeted by traffickers at truck stops as potential purchasers. We partner with Truckers Against Trafficking, collaborating on how best to to reach the trucking industry and creating persuasive media and campaigns. These tools have been used to train over 150,000 professionals at truck shows and through safety trainings. Since the launch of the TAT initiative, hundreds more calls from across the nation have been made to the national hotline. To learn more about our work with the trucking industry watch our Truckers Against Trafficking film. If you want to be apart of connecting our work to the trucking industry contact us.

Sponsor a mile at www.Berelentless.iEmpathize.org or in Mexico at www.FundacionReintegra.org.mx On April 4, 2014, Norma Bastidas crossed the border from Mexico into the U.S. and passed the half-way mark of her 3,500 mile triathlon. Marisol was trafficked across the border when she was 13, and later spent 17 years in prison for a murder her trafficker committed. Marisol is one of Norma's inspirations for setting this record. Norma met Marisol when she "Ran Home" from Vancouver to Mazatlan to combat domestic abuse and sexual violence in 2012. Norma and Marisol completed the Tijuana marathon together in 2013. Every person who crosses the border has a unique story to tell. Norma's crossing is symbolic of Marisol's and countless others who have walked this path before her.
