Short documentary exploring the significance of the annual Foyle Gay Pride parade which route follows the path of the 1968/9 civil right marches through Derry. The film features an interview with civil rights activist Eamonn McCann providing a brief history of the original march and his support of Foyle Pride - the parallels between civil rights and gay rights. Title Sequence for 'Vicious', Gary Janetti's new Sitcom on ITV staring Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi. Synopsis: Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi play partners Freddie and Stuart a couple who have lived together in the same London flat for nearly 50 years. Francis de la Tour is Violet their young at heart best friend. However all of their world's are turned upside down by the arrival of a young new neighbour, Ash. Played by Iwan Rheon. The Process: I used a calligraphy pen to write out the logo and Actors Names in Black ink. The messier and scratchier, the better! I ended up writing their names over 30/40 times each - That is A LOT of paper! I then Scanned them all in and animated the words writing on in after effects. The logo itself is constructed from 3 different logo's that I wrote out - basically choosing the best bits of all three. Gary loved the energy of the V and S and the splats for all 'i's' in the sequence. I did this because I noticed in one of our initial meetings that he used an 'x' on top of the 'i' in 'Janetti' when writing his name - so this added a personal touch to the sequence. Have you seen The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey yet? What a great film! I used many of Peter Jackson's production video diaries, featurettes, trailers and TV spots for this fan video. Some of the footage used in this video came from a friend who is like a gazelle. The movie stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage and many more. Please do yourself a favor and go see it if you haven't already! It's an event not to be missed. Thanks to an online friend who turned me onto this song.
