1. Hockey Sounds

    from Scott Duffy Added 94.6K 2,204 128

Although I’m looking forward to spring/summer, I’ll be sad to see our backyard rink go. It’s been another great winter for outdoor skating and my two boys took full advantage. Despite getting his butt kicked by his older brother, my youngest son’s skating drastically improved over the last 3 months. No children were harmed during the filming of this video. Thanks to my wife Kelli for helping me shoot this past weekend and for putting up with my non-stop camera obsession. In this (quick cut style) video, either a person, object or thing is centered in every scene. Here’s a whole bunch of good ol’ Canadian hockey in under one minute. Crank it up on a good sound system or use headphones for a better overall viewing experience. Shot using a Blackmagic Pocket Camera, edited with FCPX and coloured with DaVinci Resolve. Mister De Vries (93) sits at his window awaiting his death. Until one cold winter day he is surprised by the arrival of a parcel. When he subsequently sees a pigeon flying off he knows that this is no ordinary message. His time has come. Mister De Vries momentarily hesitates to open it. When he chances it, he finds his old Frisian skates. There’s only one thing to be done. • Peachtree St. Ice Rink in Midtown

            from A.Nendel Added 108K 76 50

Peachtree Street in Midtown my not be in the best condition for the typical driver in Atlanta. For residents familiar to this type of extreme weather though it could be perfect for a casual stroll around town on those unused ice skates. When walking home I came up with the crazy idea of ice skating on the road in Midtown from 11th to 14th street. The thickness of the ice on the street was just like a pond back home in Indiana and seemed perfect. I skated for about an hour while people walking by took video and drivers on the street were just confused. I hope to be able to do this again someday.

Part one of the video is time lapses I shot on the way to Glenwood and at my brothers house during Thanksgiving. They cooked meals, watched football, played cards, and I filmed time lapses in there backyard. Part two is the Christmas Tree lighting at Beaver Creek to get us ready for the holiday season. I shot a time lapse of everyone speaking and moving around as well as the fire works at the end. More holiday videos will be coming out soon. Song: Emancipator - Lionheart Shot By: Scott Klumb

                  • Random Chicago HD

                    from Richie C Added 1,204 7 14

Just some random Chicago footage from a recent trip. Video was shot with the Canon 5d Mark II. Some weird video oddity occurred on the lake front scene. Take a look at the lights and the strange swirling going on. It was raining, perhaps that's what it is? Edited with Corel Video Studio Pro X2. Although it works, it's absolute junk. My biggest complaint is the lack of global changes to clips. For example, you cannot color correct multiple clips at a time. Instead you have to apply and tweak each clip one at a time. You can't even save a pre-set and apply it over and over. It is extremely tedious. Same thing applies to audio, I had to manually mute 50+ tracks one at a time on this piece. Additionally, the exporting options are weak. There is no HD H.264 option. Perhaps there is a way that I'm not aware of but I had to export to Divx.

                      from rastAsia Added

Never in my life have I ice skated. Though I hear that there's some ice skating rinks built in Singapore by now... and I never gathered enough gutts to skate in Rockefeller each year around xmas season in NYC when I had the opportunity. Simply applied the physics of surf, skate, snowboarding, rollerblading and cycling helped me balance my way to make this clip to share. But what's more importantly here of course, is that its also the girls 1st time being on ice. The joy of childhood is incomparable to any other. Hope you have a happy winter too, with good health and a happy family.
