In 2014, a record two million Scots were offered the free flu vaccine, in an unprecedented national programme of immunisation. As part of the scheme, around 130,000 children were immunised in primary schools. NHS Health Scotland, together with Speakeasy, set out to make an information film for parents and children. With topics ranging from the dangers of flu, to how the vaccine would be administered, the film aimed to educate in an informal and approachable tone. As designer and animator, my role was to create a set of graphics that would link segments of the film, and would be used for on-screen captions. The brief was to imagine a child friendly video sharing site, with brightly coloured interface and iconography. A central part of the film also required an animated cartoon style sequence, where a boy and girl character use the flu vaccine like a “superpower”, to fend off the evil flu virus. The “You and Flu” DVD was distributed to schools all over Scotland and viewed by thousands of kids. You might say it's the most widespread “viral” campaign I've ever worked on. Overly staged conversation about Vaccines and Autism. 1. Wrong premise to say, 'science' claims no link to Autism and vaccines, and that the benefits of vaccines are 'undeniable'. The areas of high vaccinated populace have the highest rates of Autism. Science is not a single group, it's knowledge of all and many people see clearly the dangers of vaccines and the toxins contained within them. 2. The Christian Minister, should be making an argument that Christians are not to have vaccines that are directly injected into the body. 3. All people on the panel, are supporters of socialism as their rhetoric all coincided with social mandates to vaccinate, including the definition of people 'free loading' health and the need to enforce vaccinations on them. 4. Logic fails on 'herd' theory, as those vaccinated should not be at risk of disease if they are immune. If a virus changes then no one is protected if commercialised vaccines even protect people from disease to start with. Anyone that investigates knows TV is weaponised. The people on these programmes are gatekeepers of information and directors of people into cultural change and other outcomes. The host of the Show is a known Catholic and propagandist. The guests are NGO's, paid commentator from a university, and a corrupt church figures. ABC. Compass. The Moral Compass (Overly Staged Vaccine Topic Thick With Propaganda) 20140713

A Week in Science is the science brought to you by RiAus. This week: When it comes to vaccinations, misinformation can kill. Find out the truth as we look at vaccination myths, including the mercury fear and autism claims. ADDENDUM While it is claimed in this AWIS that no childhood vaccines contain mercury, it has come to our attention that there is one vaccine (specifically one type of HepB vaccine) that does contain trace amounts of mercury. All other vaccines for children available in Australia are mercury free. You can follow A Week in Science throughout the week on Twitter, and join the discussion, by following @RiAus For more information visit http://riaus.org.au/series/week-in-science

Every year, one in five kids worldwide isn’t fully vaccinated. That’s more than 22 million young lives at risk in one year alone. Our doctors in the field see the consequences every day: children sick and dying of preventable diseases. MSF’s medical teams want us to help them change this picture. But we can’t do it without you. www.msfaccess.org/bestshot
