We're not entirely sure what this is, but if you're in or visiting Copenhagen, and like Art installations in car parks, you should probably check this out. (it's near the Carlsberg Brewery) Filmed during Trunk's trip to CPH on commission from Current TV US shooting the opening film for Current's new Urban Mobility series 2.

"Aurora Organ" is a contemporary meditation on the possibilities of translating human presence into light using digital technology. Commissioned by Forecast Public Art for the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, the site-specific and interactive sculpture is installed in the 80 ft tall atrium of the Showplace Theaters, located at The Shops at West End in St. Louis Park. The piece combines custom software, full color RGB LEDs, touch sensors, and traditional sculptural materials to create an intriguing experience for theater-goers, where small gestures of touch translate to animated architectural-scale patterns of light.

          • wind and water - installation

This video is a documentation of an installation I did for my video piece,'wind_and_water.' The video series,'wind_and_water,' are videos that are created using the programming language Processing, with the help of input from an Arduino microcontroller. A photoresistor, which is embedded into the stem of a black pinwheel, connects to the Arduino, feeding it light sensitivity levels, which the Arduino turns into numerical values, and then passes along to the program I wrote. The end of the video shows multiple examples of different patterns created by the varying input.

L'Apprendista Stregone (Sorcerer's Apprentice) is a video introduction to an interactive installation. Inspired by a musical project by M° Daniele Lombardi ( www.danielelombardi.it ), an italian pianist with a futurist background. In 1976 he tried to build a musical grammar to teach music to non-musician. Midori Dropout and Daniele Grosso designed and built the installation - called To-Gather Together n° 11 ( youtube.com/watch?v=TgumvQqEaD8 winner of Milano in Digitale 2009 prize) - and this video as a rebirth of the original teaching laboratory.

This work is a collaboration with Janette Hoe (dance) and Philippe Pasquier (sound) . Both a performance version and an installation version were shown at the Melaka International Art Festival 2010. Mirror Mirage explores identity, multiplicity, chance and synchronicity, as well as trying to dissemble/disassemble physical vs digital motion. After a series of discussions about what interested (and what didn't interest) us both about dance on film, Jeanette and I set out to play with the idea of mirrors and mirroring movements. Originally we only intended there to be two images - performed as though they were mirror flipped. We did around 8 or 9 takes and then on a whim we decided to look at them all next to one-another, and - bam - it looked really good. So then we discussed how to choreograph the work so that certain moments were in sync and others were not. We then re-shot 9 takes, which make up the final work. There is no manipulation of time in the final peice - one of the major aspects of the work was to investigate how physical movement could invoke notions of fast/slow, forward/reverse video motion. Other than post colour correction, the only digital 'manipulation' (if it can be called that) was aligning the full length takes so that they form a perfect loop.

                    What are Tags?

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
