A sculptural live installation where wooden constructions and moving bodies create a meditative dream landscape of synchronicity and sound. Based on a dream I had during the same year.

        from Ufer! Art Documentary Added

This video, titled "hatsu-imo", is the first documentary film on Tabaimo. Because of the continual failure in her job hunting, Tabaimo was given a chance to present her works. In 1999 she introduced "Japanese Kitchen" at the gallery Iteza in Kyoto. Then at the Art Annual sponsored by Kobe Art Village Center, she presented "Japanese Zebra Crossing". Tabaimo expresses 'an ordinary oneself', representing the 'current young generation' who have grown up within the systematized Japanese society. I was impressed by the skillfulness of her expression. In high-school days, she experienced becoming a dropout just because of self-conceit in such her inherited skillfulness. She knows the difficulty of being ordinary. Her works still count only four and I don't know why they fascinates me so much. Perhaps, I may be one of those who are wanting to like this country, 'nippon', much more. I like to thank 'Japanese Society' that did not employ her along the recruiting process.

This is the claymation video installation in a time lapse, recorded in the exterior lounge at designHaus Denver in the RiNo Art District. (First Friday - May, 2011). For my process I used a 2 inch tall clay sculpture to produce a frame by frame stop-motion on a green screen. I completed the work by adding sound and video effects in Final Cut Pro. Please Note, this is a sped up, time lapse version and is not in real time. The actual installation looks much different than this. I do not take credit for any of the sound, that is Lupe Fiasco =)

The video work "Spaces of Our Times - Times of our Spaces" consists of two distinct video projections on two levels of the new Granoff Center for the Arts. Both projections play with the idea of metaphorical doors to other worlds. The first door, a mechanical elevator door, opens up to a variety of different spaces that are representative of physical aspects of the age we live in: architectural spaces, transit spaces, irrational spaces. The other door, a generic wooden interior door, opens up to spaces that have been created by our age: psychological spaces, political spaces, societal spaces. This work seeks to reveal and contextualize certain aspects of the age we live in and establish a spatial and ideological relationship to this new Center for the Arts.

of the 10 min video HD 60i Muu is an A/V performance and installation revealing images of the mythical American desert, around the theme of disappearance. The project presents itself as a Western film without protagonists. Its inherent quest is interaction with the viewer, who stands in the midst of the videographic and sonic spaces of the piece. The disconcerting mood of the soundtrack places the viewer in an ambiguous space, creating a tension within the video component and expressing vastness and emptiness.
