        • Elite Disengagement Technique: The "CROSS-BAR"

          from SAFE FOOTBALL Added 1 0 0

The best way to explain the Cross-Bar is to compare it to a traditional Swim Move, only 1000% more effective. The Cross-Bar is an "arm-over" technique enabling defensive linemen to disengage offensive linemen on 1 on 1 situations (run OR pass) without compromising leverage, pad level or posture. This technique was developed by leverage expert, Scott Peters based on a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu technique called the Americana (also known as a shoulder lock). The Cross-Bar is a great tool designed to systematically break down an opponents hands and posture (even if he superior hand position) for a quick release to make a play on a QB or ball-carrier.

            from SAFE FOOTBALL Added 16 0 0

In this video, Scott Peters provides detailed instruction to systematically defeat blockers once they have engaged. Securing Control: Winning battles on the line of scrimmage has more to do with what occurs AFTER initial contact than it does with the strike itself. Scott Peters gives you multiple tools to soften blockers after engagement in order to then disengage and make a play on the ball. Techniques in this video: - Latch & Screw: How to secure a controlling fit upon contact - Lag & Lift: How to alter the anatomical alignment of a blocker to weaken or soften him prior to shedding or disengaging - Fold & Tilt: How to break down a blocker who has superior leverage and hand placement from initial contact - Pillar Extension: How to obtain and/or recover leverage and strength at the point of attack to secure gap control Additional Content: Leverage recovery drills to expedite skill development of the techniques learned in this video.

            • Shock the OL with your Hands: Maximizing Power on Initial Strike for Defensive-Linemen

              from SAFE FOOTBALL Added 9 0 0

Scott Peters teaches you how to get off the ball and into an Offensive Lineman with the most efficient and powerful movements possible, ensuring your hands are delivering feet-stopping force capable of disrupting blockers before they get started. This video features step by step progressions from stance to impact, including demonstrations by NFL Defensive linemen along with drills allowing players to expedite the skills taught in this video. This video is a prerequisite for learning the advanced leverage concepts featured in this video series, as it is the basis for all subsequent techniques. We believe EVERYTHING starts with power moves on the defensive line because controlled force imposed onto opposing offensive linemen creates imbalances in their posture, thus paving the way for disengagement as well as speed and finesse moves.

              • Elite Disengagement Technique: The "Arm-Drag"

                from SAFE FOOTBALL Added 1 0 0

The Arm Drag is one of the best, if not the best technique to defeat an Offensive Lineman on a 1 on 1 situation (run OR pass). This technique was developed by leverage expert, Scott Peters based on a wrestling technique of the same name. The Arm Drag is a great tool designed to systematically break down an opponents hands and posture (even if he superior hand position) for a quick release to make a play on a QB or ball-carrier. ****WARNING**** This technique is difficult to master. Although this video is brief, it provides all you need to know to execute the Arm Drag perfectly every time, but the key is practice and paying attention to the details, as they are critical for proper execution. We recommend training one side first to get the proper mechanics down, then developing the Arm Drag to the opposite side. **Additional Content** In addition to the Arm-Drag, Scott Peters teaches you a Spin move as a secondary or counter move in the event the Arm Drag is unsuccessful. The Spin is the perfect follow up to the Arm Drag, because of the imbalance created in the Offensive Lineman's posture as a result of the attempt (even when unsuccessful), putting you in a natural position to take advantage of the imbalance.
