On September 24th, 2011, Ramshackle Theatre's Theatre in the Bush featured: "7 artists. 7 locations drawn from a hat. All on 2 and 1/2 acres almost in the middle of nowhere." I was one of the seven artists and my goal was to create an interactive sound art installation. I suspended three guitars from a wire, which participants could pull to make the guitars sway and the attached twigs and pine cones strike the strings. I plugged the guitars into a laptop loaded with pre-programmed Max For Live devices and assigned various parameters of those devices to a Novation Nocturn (USB midi controller). I gave participants (mostly two at a time) three minutes to record a piece. The results range from sublime atmospherics to glitchy garble to horror-ific soundscapes. Well done everyone! Special thanks Brian and Emily and to everyone who participated. Jordy
