One of my favorite places on earth - the heart of the Tuscany in Italy, from a macro perspective. No music, just the sounds of little life in a fantastic atmosphere. A big "Thank you" goes to my friend and fellow filmmaker Nino Leitner, who encouraged me to upload the film as is without music. Shot over the course of 14 days, searching for those moments where everything aligns. Field recordings with a ZOOM H2, other ressources included freesound.org. At a later stage, I will most probably share an alternate version with specifically composed music as well. Let me know what you think! See my latest film here: "Paintings of Umbria" https://vimeo.com/103172085 follow me on twitter: twitter.com/gunmac Shot on the GH1, GH2 (both hacked), a Canon FD 35mm f3.5, Canon FL 55mm f1.2, Voigtlaender 25mm f0.95, DLSR Magic 12mm f1.6 and the 14-140mm kit lens

This is Part Two to 'Dreaming It{aly}' vimeo.com/35270855 I'm a shy, awkward guy. I was dropped in the middle of the wintry Italian alps of Friuli Venezia Giulia, left to wander and experience whatever lay ahead. I met stranger after stranger who greeted me with a glass of wine and open arms; smiles as big as the mountains we conquered. They took me on a journey I will never forget. The interest they had in making sure I got out of my shell and had the experience of my life is so unheard of. In such a short period of time these strangers became family, untangling my shy soul and packed in the audacious and inspiring life I have always been journeying toward. What a happy and beautiful people. Directed, shot, and edited by MATTY BROWN Music by TORLEY http://music.torley.com/ Voicovers by ACCILVITY of freesound.org and ALLEXANDER THOMAS GREENE (http://www.freesound.org/people/fiatknox/) Produced by MIKAELA BANDINI http://www.cantforget.it/ Shot on the Canon 7D ( I don't know anything about lenses really. I just threw one on and ran around with it, hehe) Edited with Sony Vegas A big thank you for all the encouragement, advice, and critique: Goncalo De Almeida Costa, Steven Weinberg, Michael Clark, Keith Rivers. Special thank you to those who pushed me through this journey firsthand with eyes and mind wide open: Mikaela Bandini, Caspar Daniël Diederik, Cristina Menis, http://www.storytravelers.com/ Andanother big thanks to Torley, Acclivity, and Alexander Thomas Greene for your beautiful words and music. You guys are awesome!

/ About the Project The remnants of the past are still a significant part of the modern era. Our cultural institutions are the product of those who lived before us and of the societies they built. For this project, I travelled to 14 cities in 4 countries filled with history: England, France, Italy and Spain. Each of these countries had a major influence in shaping the world in which we live in. In Civilization: The Rise of Europe you will see the remains of the vast Roman Empire, the intertwined Muslim, Christian and Jewish cultures, the birthplace of the Age of Enlightenment, the European emblem of parliamentary democracy as well as many UNESCO World Heritage sites. It is also those same countries that would eventually embark on a journey to the New World and build the foundations of America. Civilization will make you travel in the past, but also in the present, to show you the enormous steps mankind has made throughout history. Hopefully it will give you awareness of our incredible cultural heritage. / Technical Info Camera: Canon 5D Mark II Lenses: Canon 16-35 II, Canon 70-200 II Licensed Music: Am I Not Human by Phoenix & Bergersen / Licensing For licensing information please visit: www.dominicboudreault.com/licensing / Connect with Me Website: www.dominicboudreault.com Twitter: twitter.com/domboudreault Instagram: instagram.com/dominicboudreault

I spent a few months living in Milan and wanted to make a short film on the city that told a story about its people, places and essence. Here it is, a trip straight through the heart of Milan—a city that is as haunting as it is enveloping. Thank you to everybody that showed me around while I was there.
