It's finally here! Reading & Jamming's first episode in the all-new Music Education vlog series is here! For anyone who hasn't visited my website or Twitter, Reading & Jamming is a website-blog on which I discuss various things within the worlds of literature and music. You can find the website here: http://doodledee.wix.com/readingandjamming. The official Twitter for the site is: @ReadingJamming In this vlog series, I use words and graphics to teach how to read music. Reading music is difficult, but it is also mentally, academically, physically, and emotionally beneficial. In my opinion, everyone should learn to read music or play an instrument at some point in their lives. The knowledge one gains from reading or playing music is helpful to not only one's musical career or hobby, but to many aspects of daily life. It is, in essence, a true life skill. I also created this vlog series for anyone who is currently attending a school in which music classes are not offered. Music education is viewed as a nonessential aspect of curriculum in schools. The lack of musical education in school districts worldwide is a growing problem. It is scientifically proven that a musicial education benefits children and young people in both their academic and emotional lives. For this reason, I believe all people (both young and old) should receive an education in music. I hope this vlog series helps anyone who does not have access to such an education! This first episode is called "The Staff." It introduces all of you to the vlog series and teaches y'all about the various aspects of the music staff. I can't tell you anymore, though--no spoilers! I hope everyone enjoys the Music Education vlog series! I'll be posting another episode every Sunday until the series is finished, so keep an eye on the website-blog and Twitter! Thanks for watching!

This is an easy way to delve into the fun of jamming on the ukulele. It used the base notes of the pentatonic scale. You can expand upon the notes played by going all up the fretboard. This is an instructional video for beginners. I have been playing the ukulele for about one year. This demo uses the key of C. You can find similar scale notes for other keys as well. Have fun. This expands your options for music.
