**Official Selection at the Santa Cruz Film Festival 2011** Meet Mel, just your ordinary college student cramming for tomorrow's big test. After oversleeping her alarm on final exam day, objects within her house begin animating themselves in an attempt to get her to her class on time. I created this film for film 172, an intermediate film production class, at UC Santa Cruz. The final project is a hybrid of HD video and stop-frame animation. I've worked on numerous stop-frames in the past, but not with an actual person as the subject. So the challenge for this film was getting my subject to seamlessly interact with the objects in her house via stop-motion. I am extremely happy with the outcome and I had a lot of fun making this film. Please enjoy!

I'm currently taking film 172 at UC Santa Cruz. This is a medium level film production class geared towards creating one short film approximately 8 minutes in length. Our professor has the students perform short tests to help gear us towards our final film, so that's what this is. This assignment was a study of space and/or style. Because I'm obsessed with stop-frame, I decided to embrace that as my style. The space is just my house and my surrounding neighborhood. My final film is going to be along the same lines of this in terms of the look, but I don't want to give too much away...

**Official Selection of the Soul4Reel Film Fest 2011** Since the day I got my Canon 5D HDSLR, I always wanted to shoot a POV style narrative film. From waking up, to eating, to driving, I wanted to fully embrace the idea seeing life in a way that we all do. Small narratives play out in our daily lives every single day, this is just my way of documenting it. For this film I rigged up a Canon 5D MKII to sit right about where my neck is. Using both a belt and the supplied neck strap, I was able to steady the camera and maintain use of both arms to perform the actions in the film. I shot the film on the Canon 16-35mm at 16mm to produce the wide-angle effect. For the later scenes in the film, I used a Lensbaby Composer with Wide-Angle adapter. Here's a few of the film that inspired mine "Last Day Dream" by Chris Milk http://vimeo.com/4155700 "Cinnamon Chasers" by Saman Keshavarz http://vimeo.com/6540668 "Walk in the Park" by Anthony Cote http://vimeo.com/12062962 Special Thanks to my girlfriend Jenny for taking time out of her studying to help me with my project. Also, thanks to Anthony Cote for letting me borrow the Lensbaby Wide-Angle adapter. Hope you Enjoy!

Finally took the plunge and ordered myself a Canon 5D Mark II. Shooting with it is great (for the most part). I have to send the camera back in because its having live view issues. I was able to get a few pretty "test" shots out of the camera before it crapped out altogether. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for the repair. This short entitled "Old Meets New" is a series of shots I constructed with the visuals of photography and film in mind. Somewhat experimental, but I'm sure you can understand what I'm trying to get at. Shot entirely on Canon's 5D Mark II HDSLR Lenses: Canon 16-35mm 2.8 Canon 50mm 1.4 Cameras featured within the film: 16mm Bolex Polaroid Sun 660 Yashica-A TLR And lastly, thanks again to my beautiful and loving girlfriend Jenny for being there to aid me and stand in for shots. Enjoy!

My girlfriend wanted to make a clay-mation for her mom for her birthday. We didn't go all out on this one just because we were under a time constraint. There are a lot of inside jokes throughout, so if you get lost... don't worry about it! Follow our main character "Mario" (short for calamari) as his birthday festivities are muddled by the mischievous "Skarkee!" Enjoy!
