The Galloping Goose Trail follows the Illium Valley where a railway line built in the late 1800s served the mining communities of the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. The Galloping Goose was the name of a gasoline powered train that was introduced in 1931 and was favored for its superior efficiency and economy. This video features the music of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead from the album "Garcia" (Jerry's first solo album on which he plays and sings every part except the drums) and the album "American Beauty."
