1. Candlelight vigil ISRAEL-STOCK1

These Candels were found on long tables in an old cathedral at the base of the mount of olives in the Garden of Gethsemane. I believe the Cathedral was called the church of Gethsemane. These candles were placed below a statue of Jesus Christ on the cross. As this shot was taken, a seamin chorous of pilgrams sang in an echoing chorus. Shot on a HPX-170 Israel, 2011 Jamin Conn

May this song and these lyrics bring new understanding to Paul's heart in Romans 11 where he explains how Jews have been blinded from recognizing Messiah, but by our provoking them to jealousy, many more will come in as the "natural branches". There are more Jewish believers in Yeshua today than at any other point in history except for the first century when the Early Church kept all the feasts and preached from the Tenakh (Old Testament). Because of this, more Jews recognized Messiah Yeshua's life as the fulfillment of their own prophecies, scriptures, and practices! God prepared the world for the coming of Yeshua the Messiah by painting pictures and providing concepts or foreshadows of Messiah throughout the entire "Old Testament". There's a famous saying, "The Old Testament is the New concealed and the New Testament is the Old revealed". May our music be a sweet savor in the nostrils of The Almighty. May it glorify Him and provoke our viewers into further study of His Word and into deeper fellowship (koinonia) with our loving Savior and only Mediator!

During the weeks of October 3 and October 10, Salaam Shalom: Report on Israel/Palestine will feature an extensive interview with writer, activist and political analyst Phyllis Bennis of the Institute of Policy Studies, about the Palestinian Authority’s official bid for full membership status at the U.N. The show will also present an interview with Michael Ratner, who offers a scathing legal critique of the recent Palmer Report’s conclusion that the Israeli blockade of Gaza is legal. Ratner is the director of the Center for Constitutional Rights in New York. Both he and Ms. Bennis appeared on the Real News Network. Betsy Mayfield’s independent documentary, “An American in Palestine,” which captures her impressions of life in Occupied Palestine during a visit earlier this year, will also air. This edition will conclude with the final segment of the film “Occupation Has No Future: Militarism and Resistance in Israel/Palestine.”

A husband and wife team of first-time filmmakers traveled to Israel and the West Bank to document the nonviolent Israeli and Palestinian peace and justice movement that has received little coverage in mainstream U.S. media. The result is the feature-length documentary Dreams Deferred: The Struggle for Peace and Justice in Israel and Palestine. While most American audiences associate the conflict only with war and terrorism, this documentary highlights the voices, opinions, and actions of the growing number of Israelis and Palestinians who are struggling to nonviolently end the Israeli occupation and achieve a just resolution to the conflict. In addition to sit-down interviews, the filmmakers accompany Israeli activists to a demonstration against the separation barrier in Bil’in, take a tour of Hebron with a Palestinian human rights activist, document their experience during an extended military curfew in Jayyous, and follow Israeli activists around settlements and new construction in East Jerusalem. Rather than focusing on one or two personal stories, audiences are introduced to several Israelis and Palestinians who each have their own unique experiences and opinions about the situation, including former Israeli soldiers and refusers, as well as former Palestinian militants, and a range of nonviolence activists. Interviewees express their thoughts about the conflict, including the obstacles to peace, their reasons for becoming activists, the role of the U.S., the importance of nonviolence, and prospects for a future resolution that recognizes the rights of both peoples. Interviews and first-hand tours reveal perspectives and realities that defy stereotypes and humanize people on both sides. Produced, Directed, Edited, and Filmed by Jennifer Hitchcock and Vernon Hall
