Writing a great story was no big for Oscar winners Jim Rash and Nat Faxon (THE DESCENDANTS), but bringing their heart warming coming of age story THE WAY, WAY BACK to life was a labor of love for the pair. Not only did they write the script together, but they also played double duty as actors AND directors for the film. Pitting Sam Rockwell (Owen) and Steve Carell (Trent) against each other as father-figures for young Duncan (Liam James), the duo crafted a wonderful story about a boy turning into a man, and learning that he can find inner strength anywhere--even if it's in the way, way back of his mom's boyfriend's station wagon.
