Registro: C. Galarce Edición y montaje: C. Huidobro --- Musicircus / Dated: 1967 / Instrumentation: For any number of musicians, being prepared to perform in the same place (event) / Duration: indeterminate / Premiere and performer(s): November 17, 1967 in the the University Stock Pavillion at the University of Illinois / Manuscript: Realisation (holograph, signed, in black and blue ink - 4 p.) in the New York Public Library. "One very important element is that there should at all times be many people performing simultaneously. The next is that, since none of the musicians are being paid, there being too many of them, the entire event must be free to the public. ... In harmony with the separation of this work from conventional economics, I have not made a score nor have I published one of course." John Cage.

A trombone duo in extended just intonation (the intervals range from very consonant to very crunchy). Written for ,,duo (Duo Comma - Matt Barbier and myself) in 2009. Here performed by ,,duo as recorded in 2010 by Umberto Belfiore at First Presbyterian Church, Santa Monica, CA. 'Ohio Imprompu' is a short play by Samuel Beckett, which -at least partially - commemorates his relationship with James Joyce, particularly walks taken with Beckett on the Isle of Swans in the Seine. The knocking motif used in the play is employed as one of two percussive effects on the trombone bell, heard throughout the recording. I recommend listening to the piece the frame of mind in which one might I watch sunlight play across the surface of a river or stream under the influence of a gentle breeze. Things move slowly. A description of the algorithmic components of the work, "On 'After Ohio Impromptu' and the Use of Interval Resolutions" (2011), is available on my page at Plainsound Music Edition (www.plainsound.org), as is an excerpt of the score.
