      • Party Down

        from Jason Gorbett / Added

Wrote and produced this video to promote the launch of Party Down with an incredible cast of characters. Got to meet minds with the geniuses behind Freaks and Geeks, including the incredibly talented John Enbom. Also spent the day with the talent in L.A. shooting -- including pitching improvised wild lines with some of the best in the business. Jane Lynch was nice as pie and sweet and told love stories about her days in Chicago, and she'd just got picked up for some new show called Glee. Ryan Hanson did a standing back flip. Lizzy Caplan put a cigarette out in a piece of pie at lunch and Ken Marino ate it. Then spit it out. Adam Scott and I spent time looking up obscure Yiddism from the Laverne and Shirley theme song, and the coup de grace was Martin Starr re-enacting imaginary scenes too dirty to retell here.

I've been following the whereabouts of the cast from my favorite MTV show from the 1990s, "The State," for the past few years. So when I found out that the whole series was being released on DVD (while I was in China), I was more than ecstatic and had to get a copy. An added bonus was learning that the cast would be doing a signing at a DVD store in Culver City. Everyone was super cool. One enthusiastic fan had cast members sign her jeans.

All ten episodes of Childrens' Hospital debut December 8th, 2008 on TheWB.com. Watch as Rob Corddry of the "Daily Show" and fellow DS Alum Ed Helms fill a prescription for laughs -- along with Megan Mullally ("Will and Grace"), Jason Sudeikis ("30 Rock," "SNL"), Rob Huebel ("Human Giant"). And what kind of big brother would Corddry be if he didn't invite his brother Nathan to join in for a game of Doctor? This, and the soothing voice of Stephen Colbert ('nuff said) all play the kind of doctors that make you wish you were ill. Warning: This show contains explicit material and is intended for mature audiences only.
