This is a documentation of my life in the crazy early seventies, which includes silent film footage I shot with my Dad's Brownie 8mm home movie camera: http://youtu.be/m3mVj3_Ve0U I documented friends at The Summer Jam Concert at Watkins Glen, NY with The Band, The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead. With over 600,00 drugged out hippies dancing in the mud, more people than Woodstock had amassed (albeit without the media coverage) it was for the most part a peaceful event. Some of the kids in this film are deceased. Drug overdoses, murder or simply age are among the causes of death. R.I.P. my old friends. Other footage in this montage was filmed during my "motorcycle phase" and then during my one year cross country trek with my two friends Kevin and Greg, and our puppies "Ernie" the old english sheep dog and "Montana" my golden retriever. We all got along just peachy in my green VW micro bus. Well... that is until the trip was coming to a close... when things started to get a bit "dicey" aboard the ship. Oh well. Guess all good things must come to an end : )

a film by: Jon Minnihan Gregory O’Connor Ryan Staples Mariano Puppo Pascal Depuhl Also known by Philip Bloom as "Team Death" Music: Light at the End of the Tunnel by Kerry Muzzey TheMusicBed.com (http://www.themusicbed.com/Light-at-the-End-of-the-Tunnel-1050.php) Thanks Daniel from TheMusicBed.com for letting us use this piece. This was a group effort at the Key West Film Master Class put on by Philip Bloom and Nino Leitner and others. We were tasked to go out and create an atmosphere film about something in Key West, FL. The cemetery was an ideal choice since it was in a single location and with only one day to film we wanted to be able to capture a place without a lot of moving around the town. We had a single day to film and then 3/4 of a day to edit and then a screening with the whole class. The final piece that you see here has some additional post edits and color grading work to it after the class was completed. For anyone thinking about taking one of these Masterclasses I can not recommend it enough!!!!, There was lots to learn from some of the best in the world and great new friends came out of the class. Thanks Pascal Depuhl for being such a great mentor to our team! Special thanks to Wayne Garcia for allowing us to film him in this piece. A personal quest to catch a grand slam turns into an absurd goal to make a film about it. Tarpon, Permit and Bonefish on fly in one day in the waters surrounding Key West, Fl. This is the long version of what was enetered in the Drake Magazine Video Awards 2011. Enjoy!

This is a quick edit of the Philip Bloom meet up that happened on June 29th 2010 in Key West, FL. I would of liked to have a bit more footage to work with but I was busy playing with all the sweet Kessler Crane gear. All the footage was shot handheld with a Canon 7D and 18-135mm f3.5-5.6. ISO was set between 400 - 1,600. Thank you to Philip Bloom www.philipbloom.net for organizing the event; Eric Kessler www.kesslercrane.com for hosting it. It was also great to meet Tom Guilmette www.tomguilmette.com and catch up with Jon Connor and Cristina Valdivieso from www.canonfilmmakers.com

Thirty years ago, In 1982, the southernmost point of the USA -the island known as Key West- seceded (or succeeded or susseeded or successioned......whatever, they decided to become their own nation, separate) from the United States. As a result of increased distribution/sale/use of certain illicit substances, from a little place that rhymes with "Schmedellín," The Reagan administration set up a series of "protective" road blocks to stop drug trafficking into the States. These checkpoints severely debilitated Key West's main lifeblood: the tourism industry. In effort to stand up for their rights Key West became, "The Conch Republic:" it's very own truly SOVEREIGN state. . Serendipitously, a group of us attending the 2012 Filmmaking Masterclass in Key West, stumbled upon the 30th anniversary festival for the Conch Republic & Key West's suxxseckshin from the United States. We traveled all over the island and worked feverishly -interviewing new and exisiting citizens of Key West, lugging around thousands of pounds of gear, and drinking gin cocktails. We're pleased to share this important story with you. We encourage you never to forget those who were severely scratched by loaves of bread in one of the most patriotic and heroic "things," to ever take place on the southernmost soil of the United States of America.

                    from Doug Jensen / Added

This video was shot over the course of a weekend in Key West, Florida to test the capabilites of the new Sony PMW-F3 camcorder. Most of the time during shooting it was just me on foot with the camera, a tripod, and a selection of four prime lenses in a backpack. Special thanks to my friend Jay Gladwell for coming along for a few hours and lending a hand. Lenses used: Zeiss CP.2 18mm PL Sony 35mm PL Sony 50mm PL Schneider Cine-Xenar 95mm PL No mattebox, filters, lights, external recorders, or other accessories were used during the shooting. Most footage was shot with the HQ 1920 24P mode and recorded to SxS cards. All slow-mo footage was shot as 1280 24P @ 60 fps. Most of the nighttime shots were done at +12db. Daytime shots are at 0db. No color grading or post-production filters have been applied. The video is straight out of the camera. Everything was shot using two Picture Profiles I have created called VORTEX-A and VORTEX-L. Those specific settings will be talked about in Vortex Media's upcoming "Mastering the Sony PMW-F3" training DVD.
