Working with Wieden + Kennedy, we produced this installation for Nike on the edge of Soccer City, Johannesburg for the World Cup 2010. The installation, created as part of Nike’s Write the Future campaign, was exhibited across a custom built screen measuring 44 meters high, the biggest in the southern hemisphere. The piece was a dynamic animation system that pulled moderated text submitted by fans from a variety of Nike digital social spaces (managed by Deeplocal in Pittsburgh, USA) across the screen and into a giant animation of World Cup player portraits. Multiple text feeds built up each image, which pictured the player that the fans text submissions referred to. A separate system was provided for photographically documenting all the submissions (a photographer shooting in the early hours of the morning) which were then posted on an online gallery and sent back to the fans that had submitted the text. About Jerry     A 20-year veteran of video and film production, Jerry Macias is a diverse and skilled director and creative manager based in southern California, has executive-produced over 700 major multimedia projects, several of which have been broadcast nationally.  Formerly focused on sports events and running the video multimedia and broadcast facility at the San Diego Sports Arena, Macias has produced over 375 live games featuring the Los Angeles Lakers, Harlem Globetrotters, World Wrestling Federation, and freestyle motorcycle. In addition, Macias was responsible for covering the following San Diego exclusives: Gulls Hockey, Sockers, Riptide, Wildfire, and Flash.  Currently Macias is active in the development of multimedia and startup television programs , Woodland Living the Dream, The Victorious Project , Hangin with the Big Boys a Crop Dusting project working with the Smithsonian Institute. From music videos to a wide range of instructional videos and extensive production and creation of television commercials, Macias has produced several television series and specials most notably, San Diego Music Awards and Gulls in flight - a 13 episode sports magazine show, as well as American Biker, aired nationally in 29 million households. He helped produce the 2009 Oscar evening’s Night of 100 Stars to be aired on Fashion TV in 200 million world-wide households.    While Macias is certainly at home in southern California, he really appreciates what many small towns take for granted; walking into the coffee shop and everyone knows your name.  Having spent many months in Northern California, Macias is passionate about covering small town events!   Life in a small town means neighborhood block parties for the 4th of July, children lining Main Street for the annual holiday parade, and meeting for breakfast at Don’s Diner.  Covering and airing these stories is important for the nation,” cites Macias. jerry@f360p.com. Thank you to all who helped in the production Too many to list credits here.
