This reel showcases my dramatic historical work, which I've had the fortunate experience of being involved with all over the world. Whether its film or digital capture, IMAX of smaller screen, the task is the same... to help transport the viewer via the visual medium to another time and place with cinema's unique language.

A bio pic loosely based on a Japanese diplomat, stationed at WWII Lithuania, who signed over 2000 transit Visas to safe approximately 6000 Jewish refugees from Nazi capture. By doing so he was not only risking his career but also the safety and the life of his wife and family. It was around the time when Japan was joining forces with Nazi Germany and he was told by his superiors back home Aiding the Jews would potentially make Germany their enemy. He was called the "Japanese Schindler". When ask about his actions near the end of his career he simply replied "I just did the right thing". Read the rest of his life online. This was an exercise hosted by the local film community in Calgary "CSIF" called the one-eight challenge. The goal was to take a single cartridge of S8 Tri-X film and shoot a narrative all in camera cuts and FX. The rule was no physical cutting and splicing of film and all FX transitions etc has to be done in camera. The whole point of this exercise was being able to plan ahead and carefully execute the shots (since obviously you can't shoot more than one takes), giving us the discipline and the respect for the medium of film. With this day in the age of unlimited digital files and storage we tend to forget the concept of what you imprint is permanent and forever and there is only a limited supply of it.

A MTB adventure around the lake of Måsnaren in Södermanland County in Sweden. I had my Kodak PlaySport mounted on the harness of my backpack to record the bike ride. This is what happened when I arrived to a pothole which I thought was shallower than it actually was. The front tire got stucked in the mud and I was thrown against the handlebar. My bike is a Helkama XS3 27 Inch, from 2014.
