        Just a little bit of the R-22 flight today. We took a few gusty wind blasts up there, but the flight was more or less uneventful. If you are not familiar with the Robinson R-22, you'll enjoy this. It's essentially an inverted lawnmower with just enough interior room for a pilot and passenger. I had to empty my vest pockets on my right side to make enough room for the pilot to reach the collective. Yup, it's a sardine can that can do 100mph. The aircraft does not have wheels, so the entire taxi and departure is done a few feet off the ground.

          This is a simple demonstration the advantage the new Kenyon Laboratories 3-axis gyro-stabilizers have over their older 2-axis cousins. Both cameras rolled side-by-side as handheld units on the back of a moving truck. Not only does the 3-axis stabilizers hold the pan and tilt steady, it adds roll stabilization that the older unit completely lacks. There is NO POST PRODUCTION STABILIZATION added to this footage.

            The flag flying by one of the properties in this clip should give you an idea of how windy it was. The new KS-4x4 stabilizer from Kenyon Laboratories performed like a champ!

              For this clip, I set the regular handheld footage next to the KS-4x4 Gyro-stabilized footage. There is no post-production stabilization applied. The run shot with with Kenyon Labs KS-4x4 Gyro mounted to the camera cage (right side of this video) appears as though the camera was in flight. The standard hand-held footage is about a bumpy as you might expect it to be. At just over 1 minute 40 seconds, and at the forward speed used for the vehicle, this would have been a hefty challenge for a Steadicam rig. With the gyros running - no problem.
