Miss Safaa Al-Awadhi is a research assistant at the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Technology and Management from Kuwait University in March 2012, and later on earned her position in KISR in August 2012. Through her great passion and enthusiasm towards the arts, she always strives to find the connections between the sciences and the arts, and to build bridges between them. She believes that finding this connection will be a great step towards nourishing creativity and innovation in scientific research.

Miss Nora Al-Othman is the Co-Founder, Deputy General Manager – Training Gate International (TGI). She is an advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities, Trainer in Disability Etiquette, and the Founder of “KELNA” initiative Nora is an honors graduate of Kuwait’s Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) with a degree in Management Information Systems. Upon graduation, Nora secured a leadership position with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, providing training supervision for its program for newly graduated engineers and architects. However, because of early experiences working with her mother, special educator, Kifayah Al Alban, Nora has chosen a career path “to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in Kuwait”. In 2011, Nora was selected by the US State Department for the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and to represent Kuwait for the Arab Women Leadership Institute (AWLI). For the past seven years Nora has been immersed in TGI’s important development and advocacy work in support of the rights of people with disabilities which has resulted in the securing of international partnerships -- with The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and its Division of International Special Education and Services (DISES), and, with Virginia Commonwealth University’s Rehabilitation Research and Training Center, Richmond Virginia

Mr. Haytham Al-Hawaj is a serial entrepreneur who has ventured in several successful startups in the food and beverage industry as well as in the information technology industry. He is the cofounder of Think Cafe, Goalcourts, Snaprint, and Abidoc. Along with the startup scene, Haytham is also involved in the non-profit sector, having created the Deera Initiative. Deera: A non-profit initiative that aims to engage the public in the process of developing the country and in enhancing the services offered by the government. The Initiative utilizes the concept of crowdsourcing to create an impact and to ensure that this impact resonates on a very core level. Deera is a platform that employs the technology that is readily available in today’s average smartphone to facilitate the process of reporting issues that have to do with public services to the governmental entity charged with handling such matters.

Dr. Salam Al-Ablani is the Director of the Scientific Culture Directorate at the Kuwait Foundation for the advancement of Sciences (KFAS). He has 30 years of experience with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research in the fields of aquaculture, fish physiology and reproductive endocrinology. He has given numerous lectures and provided hands-on training in the fields of fish physiology and reproduction for researchers from the GCC countries. He was appointed by the Director General of KISR as the leader of the physiology and pathology investigation team during the national crisis of the massive fish kill in Kuwait Bay, August 2001. He led a team to conduct numerous sea and air surveys, and laboratory experiments, which eventually led to the identification of the main reason of the fish kill.

He is passionate about marketing, and believes that the role of marketing in any organization is to achieve hard and soft business results for the organization. He is the founder and mentor of The Protégés program, Small to Big entrepreneurship program, Mutubtub obesity campaign for kids, the Shadow program, Cofounder of P2BK (Proud to be Kuwaiti. Through out his career he has been pro-active member of his community. Ms. Dalal A. Thunayan Thunayan AI Ghanim is the General Manager of the Chairman’s Club (KIPCO). Before joining KIPCO, she has had a successful career with large corporate firms, starting her career with the Commercial Bank of Kuwait (CBK), where she was promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager. Ms. Dalal holds a BA in Advertising (American University of Beirut), a BA in Architectural Interior Design ( Academy of the Arts, San Francisco) and Master Degree in Public Relations from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, U.S.A. She is the first Kuwaiti to practice professionally in the field of PR and was the Deputy chairman for the public relation society in Kuwait. She has been a member of the Kuwaiti Women’s Society, Chairperson of Nadi Al-Fatat, where she introduced for the first time Taekwondo and fencing, and supported the formation of the Kuwaiti Women’s football team. Miss Hawraa Al-Qallaf is a student at Kuwait University majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Criminal Evidence. She has been a member of the Kuwait science club since 2004, and was a trainee at the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research in 2010. She won several competitions locally and internationally, and holds the award in Fadia Alsaad competition 2009, Intel Arab competition in Alexandria 2010, London international youth science forum 2011, Intel Isef competition in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, USA 2012, and research about scientific miracle of the holy Quran in 2011. She was the youngest inventor in Kuwait 2011. She is a member in the Acoustical Society of America and is the youngest member in Kuwait youth project. Hawraa volunteers at the Scientific Center, “Rock wheels” in building wheelchairs and food bank in Seattle, Washington. She participated in the first eastern affairs alumni enrichment seminar and she is the founder of a non profit project “spreading happiness”- donating school bags for poor students and teaching teenagers citizenship values in community services. Now she is a member in THE PROTEGES program generation 4 during summer 2014.

Eng. Mohammad Hussain is president and CEO of EQUATE, Company since April 2012. Prior to joining EQUATE, he was holding the position of Deputy Chairman and Deputy Managing Director (Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery) for Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Kuwait. With over 30 years of extensive professional service, Husain held various leading posts, administrative and technical, at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) and Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). Having served at several leadership positions and board memberships, Husain’s overall competencies and areas of expertise include the petrochemical industry, petroleum affairs, gas operations, corporate planning and strategy development. Mohammad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the US-based University of Tulsa.

Mr. Salman Al-Otaibi is a student and the youngest inventor in Kuwait (2013), with a patent from the USA. He has been a member of the Science Club since 2005 and was the head of the Student Council at Sabah AL-Salem High School, 2012-2013. Salman has been teaching Electronics and Robotics at FABLAB Kuwait since 2013 and is a scientific editor at Al-Arabi Magazine since June 2014. Among his many achievements, Salman founded The Arab Union for Science (AUS) in 2012 and is Youth Ambassador at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR).

Dr. Fotouh Al-Ragom is an associate research scientist at the Energy and Building Research Center (EBRC) of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). She obtained her B.Sc. from Kuwait University in Mechanical engineering, M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, M.Sc. in aerospace engineering and PhD in mechanical engineering from University of Florida. She is a certified energy manager (CEM) since 2001and a Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP) since 2007. She obtained several awards including the 2008 Emirates Energy Award. She is a founder of Kuwait’s local chapter for the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and currently holding the President position. Her research interests include solar fuels, hydrogen production, and energy auditing and energy efficiency. She is a member of several professional organizations including ASME, AEE, ASHRAE and SWE.
