After visiting the Stanley Kubrick LACMA exhibit in Los Angeles, CA, we wanted to share our photos in a way that celebrates his life, work, and influential legacy. The exhibit ran from November 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 and was the first major Kubrick retrospective in the United States, courtesy of Deutsches Filmmuseum, Christiane Kubrick, and the Stanley Kubrick Archive at University of the Arts London. While the exhibit included his early work as a photographer for Look magazine, documentary shorts, and unrealized film projects Napoleon and The Aryan Papers, we chose to focus on Kubrick’s thirteen produced features. // PHOTOS & EDITING // Vince Di Meglio - Canon 5D Mark II (Canon EF 24-105mm, f/4) Matt Steinauer - Canon 5D Mark III (Canon EF 24-70mm, f/2.8) // MUSIC // Wendy Carlos “William Tell Overture (Abridged)” // THANKS // Criterion Cast http://blog.criterioncast.com/post/62205379409/stanley-kubrick-13-films-in-1-minute Lee Unkrich https://twitter.com/leeunkrich/status/382707740298067968

After working on his newest project for four years, Chris Burden unveiled "Metropolis II" at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in early 2012. This 20'x30' installation comprises 18 roadways, several train tracks, and various buildings constructed from Erector Sets, LEGO bricks, and Lincoln Logs. A pair of motorized conveyor belts generate all the potential energy to power the 1,100 custom-made cars (regular Hot Wheels proved too fragile), which travel around at a scale speed of 230mph. The result is an amazing frenetic energy that captures the rush of modern commuting in a big-city environment. The dynamic sculpture has reportedly been sold for millions of dollars but will remain on display at LACMA for the next 10 years. Currently, "Metropolis II" may only be viewed during select 90 minute sessions, Fridays through Sundays. Shot on a Nikon D7000 + Nikkor 35mm + Nikkor 60mm + Tokina 10-17mm in 1080p HD. http://styleandsyntax.com/

This is an edit I put together of some low light stuff I shot on Wilshire Blvd around the LACMA. I wanted to see how high I could push the ISO if I kept the shutter speed at 50 (preserving the most filmic look I could get). In some shots, 1600 is a bit too high introducing some grain in the shadows, so I might have to sacrifice shutter speed a little bit in the future because I refuse to go above ISO 1600. The tripod I used was a really old and cheap tripod, so my pan and tilts are not very smooth. I will be picking up a Manfrotto video tripod with a fluid head in the near future. Shot in Neutral Picture Style with Highlight Tone Priority enabled. This is the ungraded version straight out of the camera, as I want to try grading it in Flame to see how far I can push it. I'll upload that when its done. Shot with Canon 550D/T2i Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mk II Canon EFS 17-85mm f/4-5.6 Music: Lenny by Stevie Ray Vaughan.

http://facebook.com/fondproductions http://fondproductions.com What a wonderful couple, Venus and Stephen is definitely one of our best looking couple yet. Not only that, their love truly showed up in their relationship and just make our job a lot easier by taking this prewedding featurette to the next level. Watching a lot of romantic Hongkong movies in my college years, really helps me out in creating the scene shots for this prewedding featurette. This is my take on Michael Guang Liang / Michael Wong's "First Time". The idea is to create what is the "Real" First time when they both met with each other. I believe everything happened for a reason and sometimes believe it or not, it's "predestined or meant to be". This short film narrated by Stephen himself, will show you how their "Real" first time happened. Just watch it yourself, and "Like" us on our Facebook page if you love it. *PS: Make sure you watch it until it Finished :-) Congratulations Venus & Stephen !
