The Brasileiríssimos is a short and light hearted comedy set in London. It initially tells the story of Paulo Ricardo and Rose Maria, two Brazilians who share a flat in Seven Sisters. Paulo is a 35 year old man from Sao Paulo. He is well educated, somewhat uptight, and obsessed with cleaning. Rose Maria is a middle age woman from the state of Bahia. She is very outgoing person but who remains rooted to the habits and customs of her region. Despite of their different personalities and cultural backbroungs they live together in relative harmony. That is until Caika, the nephew of Rose’s friend in Brazil, arrives to stay in the flat. Caika is a young Brazilian from Rio who has a very relaxed attitude towards life. Paulo starts feeling very agitated with the prospects of sharing the flat with another Brazilian. Their different outlooks in life, combined with the necessity of having to share a small flat as well as to deal with the hurdles of living in a foreign country, become the ingredients to fuel hilarious situations which expose the characters’ qualities and contradictions and, ultimately, connect all their lives in a very amusing relationship.

Feeling invisible in her bland marriage, Emma moves in with her son, Elliot, into his downtown LA loft. Elliot, a young chef, is facing foreclosure of his lackluster Chinese restaurant…and, he’s gay. Emma’s disapproval has made strangers of mother and son. But the two need each other now more than ever, as Emma explores life’s indulgences--with the encouragement of a saucy new friend--and Elliot confronts his fears of intimacy. Food speaks for them where words fail. This auspicious directorial debut from David Au offers a fresh take on life, love, and food in the heart of Los Angeles. This deliciously emotional and redemptive story is supported by an earnest cast led by Sharon Omi, Teddy Chen Culver, Nicole Sullivan (MADtv), and a surprise moment with George Takei. "It never ceases to exhilarate when one encounters the work of a young filmmaker who has just crushed it out of the park. With Stone Cars, Reinaldo Marcus Green has done that and then some." --Mike Tully, Hammer to Nail (http://bit.ly/1BWKwjs) "Reinaldo's film is one of 16 Cinéfondation films, selected from a total of 3,450 short film entries, representing 128 countries. So this is a huge deal for Mr Green, given the caliber and prestige of the festival." --Tambay A. Obenson, Shadow and Act (http://bit.ly/1eTHwqc) "Aside from its stellar performances and cinematography, one of the great pleasures of this film is its strong grasp of visual storytelling, which creates a rich setting without sacrificing momentum."
