With funding from the San Francisco Arts Commission and Kickstarter, ORIENT: a new anthropology, by San Francisco writer and musician Kevin Simmonds, premiered at The Garage, October 10 & 11, 2012. The piece, a mashup of live and recorded music, poetry and performance, considers Asian-Black relations in the context of American history. Simmonds' anthropology unearths cultural "artifacts" that both highlight the solidarity these groups have had alongside their unease and estrangement. ORIENT is more verb than noun, it's an attempt at getting some cultural bearings despite the exoticism of history. All poetry and music are original. Video footage and images are either used with permission or freely available online. SPECIAL THANKS TO ARTIST IONA ROZEAL BROWN. Copyright and all rights reserved for original music and poetry.

Right now there are many thousands of Christians that are under great persecution, starvation, no freedom and in danger of prison or death. That is a fact. There are over 50 nations that there is extreme persecution. (Voice of the Martyrs) Does the Lord love these people? Does He care? Can He deliver them? Can He supernaturally provide food for them? Could He change the Governments? Of course He could! But He isn't! Why? Because persecution is where the believers shine and revival falls. God isn't a genie in the bottle. He doesn't owe us anything. SO WHY DO SO MANY BELIEVERS IN THE WESTERN CHURCH THINK WE WON'T HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME? Because of passivity, deception and normalcy bias. BE SURE LAWLESSNESS IS COMING SOON TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! In 1980 when I had an encounter with the Lord and he showed me what would happen before the year 2015. I saw such an outbreak of destruction, murder, rape, gang violence, lack of food and no water. Jews and the spirit filled remnant were being hunted like animals. Don't listen to the pastors, prophets, teachers and apostles that are spewing out lies about peace and prosperity or the recovery of the U.S. or a great revival breaking out soon. It's all lies. The great endtime revival will come but in the last 3.5 yrs of Jacob's Trouble or the great tribulation. There is a tsunami of deception that is beginning to sweep through the body of Christ. Especially in the western church. In my 1980 encounter the Lord told me that I would see a token of what was going to happen before the year 2000. When the riots broke out in LA I was speaking at a church in Berkley, Ca. The subject that I had prepared to teach was "Lawlessness". The first day the riots broke out was the first day that I was to start preaching on "Lawlessness". Coincidence? Hardly! Confirmation! There was 1 Billion dollars of damage in LA. 4 Mil in San Francisco, 2 Mil in Berkeley and 2 Mil in Las Vegas. All because people didn't like the verdict of a court case. It was the mystery of lawlessness.

so much fun I wish my camera hadn't died for when I was onstage so I could've gotten a video of the crowd up there. Insane.
