This is a video of the activity of the LASD FMPC at it's 7th meeting Dec. 2, 2014. It is my first in about two years and shows rusty videography skills. My second video of the Dec. 17 meeting is much better technically and has an interesting "brainstorming" session. If you just want a glimpse of what these FMPC are up to and going through, take a look at the Dec. 17 meeting at 27:10 minutes. The process has changed quite a since the beginning. Originally it was a "full group" proceeding, like most meetings we see. Now it is more like a modern classroom with maybe half the time spend with the whole group and half the time spent in multiple small breakout groups. This video captures the full group proceedings, and gives a flavor of what the small groups are like. However with 4 to 7 groups all speaking about different things at the same time, obviously such a chaotic scene is not recordable by a single camera operation. Committee members who speak are identified by name and what entity they represent. . Text explanations have been inserted here and there: the 3 options for solutions to enrollment growth suggested by the staff & trustees, the 4 board of trustees strategic goals (Challenge Statements), the 14 evaluation Criteria for analyzing a solution. See the Los Altos Politico .com website for written summaries about the FMPC proceedings. Warning: These meeting tapes are presented in the interest of transparency, not entertainment. Excess viewing may cause extreme drowsiness and eyes to glaze over. Do not view and drive!

These laws apply to both vehicles and pedestrians that disregard the California Vehicle Code. In 2013, fifty pedestrians were involved in injury traffic collisions in the City of Santa Clarita. Deputies in plainclothes and a Batman costume to cross the street and monitor whether vehicles slow down and yield the right of way to the pedestrian.
