      • OpenFeed: Lawyer says B.C. hang-glider pilot cooperating fully

        from OpenFile Added 144 0 0

A Fraser Valley commercial hang-glider pilot who is suspected of negligence in the death of a tendem-flight passenger was released on bail Monday. Speaking with reporters lawyer Laird Cruickshank said his client, William (Jon) Orders, is cooperating fully. And his full cooperation appears to include that of his digestive tract. Orders records his flights and sells the videos back to customers. He is alleged to have swallowed the memory card containing the recording of the flight in which Lenami Godinez-Avila, 27, fell 300 metres to her death in an effort to conceal evidence. Police had been using X-rays to monitor the card’s progress through Orders’ body before ultimately recovering the card. Cruickshank told reporters that his client expressed remorse. • Sushi Salmonella Outbreak - Food Safety Attorney Bill Marler

                from Marlerclark Added

http://about-salmonella.com http://marlerclark.com At least 200 people in 21 states have fallen ill in a Salmonella outbreak linked to contaminated sushi. 28 of the victims have been hospitalized, but no deaths have been reported. Government investigations are pointing to a raw tuna product called “tuna scrape” as the source of the bacteria. Tuna scrape is the meat scraped from a fish’s backbone after the filets have been removed. In this case, the implicated tuna – called Nakaochi scrape – was sold in spicy tuna rolls in grocery stores and restaurants. The current cases of Salmonella have been linked to two different strains of Salmonella – Salmonella Bareilly and Salmonella Nchanga. The implicated tuna is imported by California-based Moon Marine Seafood Corporation in boxes market with the company name and product, but is usually divided and further distributed before being used in food. If you or someone you know thinks you may have contracted a Salmonella infection, contact your healthcare provider. And when purchasing sushi, double check with the vendor to make sure that the tuna scrape linked to this outbreak is not in the food.
