One of the many pleasures of Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Drive” (2011) is that the shots feel both tightly composed and weirdly unpredictable. Even though most of the images follow a simple quadrant system, Refn puts plenty of subtle touches within the frame. Let’s take a look. For educational purposes only. One of the wonderful things I did in 2013 was talk at TYPISM about lettering and how it has become a big part of my life. I showed examples of my logos that contain lettering and presented samples of my practicing scribbles. To close my speech I made this video to my favourite band, Radiohead. I discovered this song (Daily Mail) when I saw them live in Brisbane at the end of 2012 and immediatly fell in love with it - for me, the highlight of their performance. When I'm stuggling to focus or find that creative zen, Radiohead is my "go to band" that realigns my creativity. It's also a testament to their creative ability to evolve with every album. What an achievement for a band that's been around as long as them. With that said, I hope you enjoy some of the lettering logos for clients and signatures I did for loved ones during 2013.

On December 6th 2008 a police shooting of a 16 year old innocent boy in Athens started a two week revolt in cities around Greece. Three years on people march in remembrance of Alexis Grigoropoulos. Greece now is very much in social and economic turmoil. This films looks at the events surrounding December as well as an inside look to the often cases of revolt in a country that is sinking deeply in recession. This film also explores the role that anti authoritarian movements play in Greece.
