LightForm C Picture Style Note the gorgeous skin tones. Color graded Watch the original, ungraded clip here: https://vimeo.com/48215045 Get the LightForm picture style for Canon EOS cameras here: www.cineplus.ch Original Footage imported in After Effect. First part is ungraded. Second part is graded using AE curves, Levels and Neat Video. The Lightform picture style is compatible with all EOS cameras. More infos about the Lightform Picture Style at www.cineplus.ch Vimeo LightForm Group: https://vimeo.com/groups/lightform Lightform Features at a glance: RELIGHT Enhanced Dynamic Range Canon cameras have plenty of precious data hidden in the highlights. The only way to deploy it is to edit RAW photos or via a picture style that is able to take advantage of it. Lightform enhances the sensor's dynamic range by bringing down that useful data to a more visible range, before compression. As result, you get advantage of the full latitude of the sensor with a more faithful to reality dynamic range and more detail in the image upper range. RESKIN Yellow, orange and red spots in the highlights, unnaturally saturated skin tones.. Those are all problems that will make you crazy when you will try to eliminate them in post. Again, unless you edit the RAW photos, they will be printed to file and stay there to create problems. Lightform does all the work before compression, to deliver the best, most gorgeous skin tones out of the box. We tested it on models of all races, and in dark to bright conditions. True Colors that can let you spare hours of color correction. REGRADE Color grading is all about headroom. Thanks to the Lightform's headroom feature, you can, in post, rise the video level without destroying the highlights, and you can adjust the balance without overdriving colors. Of course Lightform can be used with -4 contrast for a greater latitude or at 0 contrast for a balanced, final look out of the box. The headroom is always present at all contrast settings. CINEMA Option As asked by many users, there must be a neutral version. So Lightform comes in 2 flavours: Lightform C (Cinema) with an enhanced version of the highly successful look of the Cineplus CINEMA Picture Style. Lightform N with neutral, untouched colors, for those who want full control of the image in post production.

Here's the 3rd test of the new picture style from John Hope, the creator of CINEMA picture profile. This is not a scientific test but I kept the same settings of the 5DM3 on all clips here. I've bought the Lightform pf to test out their promised enhanced dynamic range and I can say that it's pretty conclusive in this test (on this setting, weather, lighting, framing, etc.) that LF is keeping up to its big brother's reputation. I will be using this pf on 2 paid shoots next week. I will keep everyone posted!=)

I notice some banding artefacts in the LightForm picture style. Here is a comparison of the neutral picture style vs. VisionTech (a VisionColor version) and the two LightForm versions. The clips are right out of the camera without grading, all settings are the same for all picture styles.

I find this new picture style from cineplus.ch (the developer of the CINEMA ps) quite intriguing so I decided to shoot a quick comparison between the picture styles which I have been personally using since I upgraded to 5D Mark III from the 60D. There are already a number of videos showing it's capabilities in handling the highlights that's why I decided to shoot a moderately moving object, some colors and shadows to check its tone and noise (very subtle in the shadows). I will be posting a series of non-scientific tests in the next couple of days to help others (particularly 5DMIII users) in making an informed decision before buying this ps. Settings: Lightform N Lightform C CINEMA Faithful (EOS HD) Neutral Prolost all clips were not graded 1080p @ 24fps ISO 160 f/20 WB 5600K

                    What are Tags?

                    Tags

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
