                from Stephanie Maxwell Added

LONG DESCRIPTION: “Ocean” is a dramatic and powerful choreography of light and motion in the ocean's 'swash' zone, the turbulent area of water that washes up on the beach. Filmed in HD in close-up detail on the beaches around Newport, Oregon during Summer 2013, sunlight on moving water and bottom sand reveal the infinitely animated and ever-changing world of visual compositions and events that have a charged, emotive power when presented as distinct variations and themes interwoven with the musical score. The film is lively and sensuous and reveals an extraordinary beauty that is palpable in the most minute and subtle domains along the beach. "Ocean" is an intoxicating experience, where the powerful allure and exquisiteness of the ocean evoke a blissful insight into an undiscovered beauty. ©All Rights Reserved 2012 JeffreyHondaPhotography This footage was taken in Lembeh Strait, Indonesia. Lembeh is a popular area for muck diving and macro photographers. There is a concentration of little critters here that will rival any place on earth. While on my trip I was testing the new Sola Nightsea Lights from Light In Motion. These shots were taken at night ranging from 10ft to 50ft of water. I used a DSLR Canon 7d and Aquatica housing. Most macro shots were taken with 100mm L series lens, 1.4 TC, and a Macro Mate from Backscatter Underwater Photo & Video. I used a Xit 404 Tripod and Legs to keep everything steady. Not every critter fluoresces and some colors are much more faint than others. Scientists are still hypothesizing the reasons for fluorescing and why some critters of the same species fluoresce and some don't. A lot of the subjects are easy to identify in this video and some identities are still at large. My personal favorite is a Coconut Octopus (we think) that let me hang out with him for about 8 minutes. He was in hunting mode and I was using a 100mm lens trying to capture him while he sat still. To my knowledge, this is the first footage of a Coconut Octopus captured under this lighting. I hope you enjoy my work and I encourage people to try "Fluorescence" diving for themselves. It's an amazing adventure :)
